Motel is clean and bright, pet friendly and good for an overnight stay for the traveller. Under new management, I believe, and the motel has been spruced up since my last stay. They have opened a restaurant that serves great Indian food

The Silver Oaks Motel is located on the Newell Highway (1 Castlereagh Street) at the edge of the Gilgandra CBD. Next door to the Motel is the Gilgandra Bowling Club where drinks and meals may be obtained. The CBD is not within walking distance of the motel The check in was swift and after payment rooms were allocated and pointed... More

Very neat, and clean, old, but well kept. Priced well, even cheap. Would recommend this Motel. Ample parking. Like many places these days there is no cooked Breakfast. Owners very pleasant, and helpful. There is a Bowling Club next door if you are not into Indian. Bowling club's food is poor.. Unfortunately I can't rate this motel higher, although it... More

Arrived late afternoon. Lovely clean well appointed room. Small table and two armchairs. Ordered indian meal to our room and it was delicious. Best of all had a pet friendly room and there is plenty of grass area for the dog to walk.. Thumbs up all round.

Good value overnighter. We had a small dog with us and the experience was hassle free. The Indian restaurant attached was a bonus and they Brough the meal over to us. Friendly and helpful staff. No noise from the road. The room is pretty basic but if you just need a clean bed and a good quick meal then I'd... More

We chose to stay here based on other Trip Advisor recommendations and we were not at all disappointed! We were travelling as a family of 6 - 2 Adults, 2 Kids, and 2 small dogs. Our room backed on to the highway side (set back from the highway) - NO noise problem at all. The room was spacious with very... More

While the room appeared mostly clean and neat, it was a little dirty upon closer inspection eg. Window sills had a few bugs and spider webs. The AC worked well and the bathroom and shower were decent. While it wasn't too noisy, there was a huge spot light right out front of our unit which was annoying as it shone... More

We stayed for a night whilst on a road trip. What a pleasant surprise for the price. The owner advised that they took over the motel three months earlier and they are doing a great job to improve an older style motel. The rooms are very clean and well appointed, especially for the price. The owners are very friendly and... More
