Booked this motel over the phone and was a little concerned given some of the comments earlier. Needn't have worried. Arrived to a most friendly welcome with apologies for the closure of the parking garage due to it storing household items removed because of the bushfires (I was told this over the phone when booking). We were upgraded to a room and suite as the place was not overly busy. In contrast to other reviews, the room was spotless and tidy and the bathroom the same. The sitting area with lounges was a bonus as was the microwave, sink and small coffee area. Complaints about no bar and breakfast miss the mark. There is pub immediately across the road: feel like a wine or a beer, no better place. And while the village might lack the population of cities it does not lack for cafes and eateries. Take a fifty yard stroll in either direction for coffee, bacon and eggs, pies or a pub feed. No problem staying here again and would recommend it.

Room Tip: Upper floor and back of hotel (we'd room 20): private little balconies and quite quaint.

I've been staying here on a yearly basis going back awhile. The motel is very good value. I book a room with a sitting room and kitchen/dining area. Straight across the road from the town's very decent pub. Motel staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. Great golf course up the road.

I recently had a bad experience in a motel in Bathurst so was pleasantly surprised to have friendly staff, a good spacious clean room with a clean and functional bathroom a large fridge, microwave and kitchenette sink for little more than I paid in Bathurst. Bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Off street undercover parking, a pub across the road and bakeries/cafes either side. A well appointed Motel in a great location. We were only in KV for a night but if we come back (and we probably will) we will be sure to stay at Pioneer.

I found this Motel on line, I often look for motel style accommodation when doing a road trip and the Pioneer Motel seemed to be the best choice for a stay over in Kangaroo Valley. The price was right, the room was comfortable and the location is great.

Arrived last week and stayed at the Pioneer Motel. I have never stayed so did not know what to expect. First view all seemed good, that is until you started to look around. The state of the place was terrible. Untidy gardens, bird dropping and dirt just over all the outdoor furniture. You could not sit down without wiping the table and even then spray and wipe was needed. Dirt in tiles in the bathroom and fittings that sprayed water everywhere. No restaurant for breakfast, no food and no alcohol. Looked like there had been a bar prior but it was covered with junk so I guess not. Could be so good!!! Other than that the place was OK.
