Arajilla Retreat is a beautiful place in a special remote corner of Australia. Although friends had raved about Lord Howe Island, we arrived with fears of it being a haven for retirees staying on the cheap in old-fashioned guest houses and sitting on the beach eating fish and chips. Our five-day experience of the island and Arajilla could not have...

Thank you Anna for taking the time to write this wonderful review. There used to be a saying about Lord Howe Island - "newly weds or nearly dead's" - but this has since passed. With more active and adventurous types - such as yourself coming and experiencing everything this wondrous destination has to offer. Time after time we receive positive...

From our arrival at Reception to the moment of our departure, Arajilla was a welcoming, relaxing retreat. The beautifully appointed rooms, tastefully decorated to compliment the natural surroundings, were peaceful and secluded and had everything we needed. We stayed at Arajilla for a week as a group of 4 couples , on the recommendation of friends, and could not have been happier. The Kentia suites were very comfortable and roomy, and we found Unit one very peaceful , though its proximity to the dining room might be an issue at very busy times. The location is terrific,...

Both Lord Howe Island and Arajilla Retreat exceeded our expectations. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suit, which was well appointed, tastefully decorated and felt very exotic surrounded by banyan trees.
