I stayed here when taking a large group up to Port Stephens, This hostel surpassed my expectations. The owners were really friendly and willing to work with our group every step of the way. The facilities were great, even though they are in the midst of an upgrade. But the best bit where all the awesome animals roaming around and...

The place is awesome, you are in the middle of a nice bush with a friendly kangaroo, posums and animals in general. The commun area is great to relax nice tv, perfect wifi, lots of dvds also a great kitchen. But everything was kind of dirty, our room was really really dusty and plenyy of spider webs (ok, thats nature)....

We stayed here for 2 nights camping in our own tent. The campsite is a lovely base to explore the area and the facilities are adequate and the kitchen is clean. The wildlife provides a nice atmosphere to the site and we found the resident kangaroo to be friendly but not intrusive.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in December 2015. It is really unfortunate that some reviewers have written negative reviews. Considering that the location is set amongst natural bushland, one would probably expect gecko's and other natural fauna. Mark and Michelle were always gracious hosts to me, and I found them them to be very helpful. Personally, I highly recommend this...

I loved this place. I stayed there for a long time. first in a tent, then I moved to a dorm. Both beds were really good. The kitchen is very clean and equipped with good gear. The bathrooms could improve, like there is not always light and its hard to find a balance between cold and hot water. It is...

I went here for the weekend with 2 girlfriends, having stayed before and liking it enough for a second visit. Bad idea !! The place was like a creepy dilapidated ghost town when we arrived on Friday. We were greeted by 2 big aggressive dogs. I'm a dog person but even I felt weary of being attacked by them. The...

Place is really nice and Mick - the owner is really friendly. On my arrival he gave me map of Port Stephens on which he marked all the interesting places to see and visit (his pigeon - Glenn was helping him by tapping on the map ;)). I even received a discount voucher for public transport in Port Stephens. Later...

The owner of this place was so kind and helpful to us. The place itself is made up of lots of cabins. Super cosy and clean, it was a good place to stop on our road trip. One mile beach is just 5 mins walk and so worth getting up early to see the sunrise. Plus they have a pet...

I found this place pretty easy to reach by bus from Newcastle (Hamilton) train station, and was only a short bus ride from Nelson Bay. Even arriving at 8pm, I was greeted and shown around by the guy at reception, handed a map and told about all the activities I could do around the area. It was nice seeing possums...

Nice internals of cabin, and kitchen facilities, but did not seem to cater to people not traveling on the tour groups. Paths to cabins were not lit at night through bush land and no torches provided, which made night toilet trip uncomfortable. Owner has an aggressive dog that was about to attack and the owner was not concerned at all....
