Stayed here just for 2 nights, and had a nice stay. Reception staff weren't the most friendly! Room was fairly modern, although extremely thin walls, could hear lots of noise from surrounding rooms. Lots of parking. Free wifi although rubbish in room. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant/pub each night, and was very pleasantly surprised by the prices and portions...

Location was great !! It was great to be so close to the water, I was a little taken back by the room as I did not know that it would not be like a ibis hence the added word styles in the name. The rooms were really clean, with new bedding but the rest of the room was really...

The room we were allocated had a great view - of the swimming pool! No ocean view for us. It was badly in need of updating but the worst thing was the double bed. It was so old and saggy that I couldn't get up off it. The single bed was not much better. There is no excuse for not...

We ordered our meals, printer broke down so had to wait to order. Then after we ordered we were told it will be a 45 minute wait. The kids meal came with a fruit option which we ordered, but when it came out the fruit was missing. We asked the waiter about the kids fruit and was told quiet rudely...

We stayed for two nights in a family room which was actually two rooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a queen and a single bed. There were two bathrooms with a toilet in each, one spa bath with shower over and another shower. This suited our family of five extremely well. It was a lovely peaceful...

Good food at a reasonable rate. Good atmosphere followed by the 9pm fireworks in Nelson Bay. Its hard to go past this place for value for money and I'm sure someone will discover that they are very very fairly priced. Go there before its too late. We continue to go for the monthly roast buffet and they have many speciality...

I don't know why I even think about dining here. The restaurant was quiet and there was a 45 minute wait for our meals, which I commented before it came out that 'they are probably in there burning the food'. I wasn't wrong, what is supposed to be golden brown crust my snitty was as dark as the gravy it...

Stayed for 3 nights in a Bayview spa room which even though it is dated was lovely. The wild rainbow lorikeets fed out of our hands on apple, biscuits and bread, so really enjoyed that. The water was Luke warm so a bit disappointed when I asked at the desk and they said they would have to ask maintenance but...

Left Sydney a night earlier than planned and found Salamander Shores a genuine treat. Friendly staff, good room opening on to the well-kept tropical gardens, and a very pleasant restaurant featuring a crab, oyster and prawn special for the night. Incredible value for the price, and a very good continental breakfast array next morning. Definitely one we'd go back to.

We got this a very cheap price. Room was okay size wise as 3 of us in room and little balcony views of gardens with heaps of birdlife. However, the bathroom was tiny. Room was very clean. Cleaning very old and looks as if some of the rooms on top floors have already been decommissioned. If you want cheap place...
