This is an old hotel, but kept up well. We had a lovely room with a loft for our bedroom. Our balcony overlooked My Kosciuszko, which we hiked up during our visit. Breakfast is a small continental breakfast served downstairs. Special kudos to Madie, who made our stay comfortable and treated us as family.

The property is in a good location with nice views over the valley. Staff are friendly and responsive to requests. Property is a bit run down and could use some updating. Breakfast is skimpy but adequate. Parking at the property is very limited. There are 3 parking spaces for 14 rooms so expect to unload then reposition your car a...

Thanks for yor comments. Just responding firstly to comments of the lodge being a bit run down and there appears to be a recurance of these comments surfacing on this forum over last month or two so not sure if they are related or influenced by previous comments but just some notes for future travellers. Good place for a family with children to stay in Threbdo. Very central. Rooms are very clean. View from our room was great - on the mountains. Customer service is excellent. It is just a bit pricey for what it is!

Nice view of the mountain from our balcony, we arrived when to was quite hot, the next morning we were completely fogged in, it did lift and we were able to climb the mountain. Room is nice and comfy, breakfast is basic.

Spent 5 nights at Candlelight Lodge to go Mountain Bike Riding and hiking at Thredbo in early January. Yes, the rooms are dated but they are neat and comfortable. A continental breakfast, which was simple but sufficient, was included with the accommodation

A nice and spacious lodge built way back in the 1950s in the early days of Thredbo. Has lots of character.. but could do with some new sheets and a proper breakfast spread. Allow for the Thredbo Price Premium.

We had to hunt for the receptionist to check in. The rooms have good views. But it needs a good make over. The rooms were clean enough. The doors and windows are hard to close or open etc. The breakfast was basic and the service very slow.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay here. We were made to feel very welcome from first contact to departure. The general vibe was friendly and charming. Our room was spacious and very clean. Beds were comfortable and we slept very soundly. Breakfast offered a vast array of choices. A great base to enjoy the mountains.

It's Thredbo, so you know everything from the food to the accommodation is going to be two steps up in price, and at least one down in quality, so set your expectations accordingly. Our room (two nights) at Candlelight Lodge was fine, the room was clean and reasonably well appointed including tea making facilities and a sink. Bathroom supplies consisted...

Enjoyed our stay at Candlelight Lodge for 2 nights. Breakfast is included in summer visits and Alison is such a friendly host. Our room was large with a balcony to overlook the slopes. The lodge is convenient to the centre of the village. Lots to see and do in Thredbo.
