Detailed Reviews
Upon arrival to the Mad Mexican restaurant, me and my partner were greeted with a filthy attitude even though we had done all the right steps (booking prehand). Our service remained prickly and it wasn’t until a large group of young men walked in that our server showed them how helpful and what potential she had as a waiter. This was quite disappointing to us as we were very kind upon approach as we know what it’s like to work in busy time periods. Our service remained cold when it came time to pay after a few rude comments were said following a genuine question from our party. It’s disappointing that such a place with high potential has to be dented just by a few individuals attitudes towards their customers.

I think this place is suited for young people who are in Thredbo purely to ski and be out all day. The "family room" we stayed in had absolutely no where to sit or hang out if you weren't skiing.
We travelled with 2 kids and whilst they shared a perfectly nice room with 2 single beds, shelves to store clothes, a shared night stand with lamp, the main bedroom had no bedsides, no reading lights and a very dimly lit main light making it a pretty uninspiring place to be if you weren't skiing. There's no common areas to sit and read or have a drink, the bar doesn't open til 5pm, there wasn't even a rod hanging in the wardrobe to hang shirts. The towels were only changed once in a 7 night stay, we were given a small amount of shampoo and conditioner which didn't last a family of 4 for a week, and there was an in explicable gap in the shower glass which lets water leak out and flood the bathroom floor. We also had no way of controlling the heating which was set to far too warm for our visit. And all this for a cost of $6,927.
So overall i wouldn't be back.

This hotel is very noisy because it is facing the main road in Thredbo Village, expect to hear people screaming at any time including night time, people tend to get high after ski. Privacy is bad too, it is very ridiculous to have no blind in the bathroom (I have to admit the view is very nice), people from the mountain can actually see us showering. This place has no parking but acceptable for the price we paid. Overall, it is alright for the one night stay, but would consider somewhere else if I ever go back to Thredbo again.

House of Ullr provides excellent accommodation at a reasonable price, right in the heart of Thredbo. The staff were extremely helpful (Aaron and Kodi especially) and were very helpful when I made an error with our booking. The location is brilliant - literally a minute walk to the village. We had a two single bed room and this provided plenty of space for all our luggage and was very comfortable. The room looked recently renovated, had great views, shower was very good with excellent pressure and hot water, tea and coffee making facilities were provided, and a small fridge allowed plenty of space for personal food purchases (milk etc).
The Mexican restaurant on the ground floor was delicious - best guacamole, enchiladas and tacos around. Service was quick and efficient, staff friendly and helpful. Make sure to book ahead as it's difficult getting a booking on the night (as is the case with most restaurants in the village).
Highly recommend and we'll definitely be coming back.

We travelled down to Thredbo for the weekend to check out the beer festival and stayed at The House Of Ullr it is a very cosy place with a great view of the mountain and the staff are very welcoming and so helpful.
The Mad Mexican is on point with their food it's my favorite place to eat in Thredbo and with its new renovations it's second to none to dine at down here I highly recommend coming to see Aaron and his staff to stay and dine at The Mad Mexican trust me you will not be disappointed...
Cheers can't wait to come back down 👍🏼

Molly at House of Ullr is the definition of an exceptional bartender! Not only does she have a vast knowledge of Mexican-inspired cocktails, but she also crafts them with precision and a true passion for her craft. The atmosphere at House of Ullr is further elevated by Molly's welcoming and engaging personality, making it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy a delicious margarita. I highly recommend stopping by to see Molly in action and experiencing her expert mixology for yourself.

Absolutely loved our experience at the Mexican at the House of Ullr. Efficient booking experience during a very busy holiday period. Food was yum. Chicken quesadillas, bean nachos, fish tacos and chips comprised our meal for 4. Service was efficient & friendly. It was so good we are going back again tonight for our last night dinner on our holidays.

Great place to stay very friendly staff. Arron made sure we had everything we needed and was always up for a friendly chat. Even provided us with bike wash at the end of the day. The food at the mad Mexican is amazing you have to try the Japanese chicken taco!
