It has been a few years but every time we head up that way we stay in the Underground Motel. It looks like it has new owners and that can been seen in the menu for the restaurant. Lots to choose from and more flexible with times. Food was great and there was plenty of it. We stayed towards the...

We did this trip to fulfil a dream of my Dad's before he died to find an opal. Staying underground was an added bonus. I think the thing to remember is " its in the Australian desert" so no ensuite, its no drama to walk to the bathroom. No "Free wifi" no dramas, play table tennis, play darts, sit outside...

The underground hotel is certainly the place to be! An authentic outback pub and hotel. The rooms are simple, no private facilities, the plugs and lightswitches difficult to find... BUT you can sleep beautifully in total darkness, no outside noise - something to get used to. The food was fair, not fancy, the view from the observation deck into the...

The first thing to remember is that this is the outback, and if you are expecting a similar standard to what you'd find on the coast you may be disappointed. In outback standards this place definitely rates high! We very much enjoyed our stay, it was clean and comfortable, and it was more then just a place to stay, it...

Not knowing what to expect we booked on advice of friends. There is not much to do in White Cliffs so if your hoping for an Opal mine tour check they are operating. There is a portion of gravel road and the driveway looked steep but was okay. The hotel is only basic and suitable for the area. Rooms are...

This is the second time I have visited White Cliffs but this time I decided to stay underground. We were warmly welcomed by friendly staff and shown to rooms. I knew the bathrooms were a walk from the bedrooms so that was not a problem to me, they were clean. The rooms are basic, quiet and restful. A little dust...

This place was amazing, staff friendly and locals freindly, thats one thing about White Cliffs everyone is freindly. This motel is truly amazing, a labyrinth of tunnels and rooms, proper furniture in every room. Definitely the place to stay.

This motel made me feel uncomfortable initially as I walked into the tunnel/hallway but that feeling soon left me. The bedroom was small as were our single beds. It was very cool in the motel which was great. The staff were very friendly. There are communal shower and toilets with each being co-located in a small bathroom and there are...

It is a very unique motel being underground. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic and there are share showers and toilets that everyone uses. I suppose it would be hard to get plumbing into the rock. Very quiet underground. No mobile phone or internet connection. Breakfast was standard continental. Meals at restaurant were ok.
