We just spent 2 nights at this Marriott while visiting both the Lancaster area and HersheyPark in late August. Overall our stay was amazing from start to end!! When we checked in, we got the warmest welcome from Kristen Lowery, the front desk manager. She was extremely friendly and assigned us two immaculate king rooms up on the 19th floor of the west tower. The view from both the rooms were stunning, they overlooked downtown Lancaster. (Rooms 1915 and 1917) The beds in both the rooms were comfortable, they were definitely on the firmer side. We also loved the fact that for security purposes you couldn’t use the elevators unless you had your room key to press your floor. That made us feel very safe and secure! The final morning we had breakfast in the M Club, the food was super good and the staff inside were very friendly! Would we stay here again? YES in a heartbeat!! This is our official go-to hotel while visiting Lancaster. To Kristen and the whole crew of this Marriott, thank you for making our stay super enjoyable.

Hotel's Favourite
I'll be honest, I was nervous about staying here given some of the reviews I read prior to arrival. I'm so glad I took a chance because my stay was great! The hotel was busy with weddings and there was a line to check in--the reception desk had 3 employees working and the line moved swiftly. Room was clean, updated, and very comfortable. I will say the Marriott brand's choice of pillows could be better--they look nice and fluffy, but flatten almost immediately! Not a critique of this hotel specifically, these pillows are in other Marriott hotels I've stayed. Had a little difficulty with signage--a sign to the M club and hotel breakfast location would be helpful. Enjoyed the Plough bar and there was a nice assortment of beers on tap. Both nights, the bar was busy. Overall, this location is great and perfect for walking around. Don at the Bell Service was a pleasure, even though he seemed to be working alone and was very busy with arrivals. He was smiling and very helpful. Would definitely return to this hotel for future trips to Lancaster.

My stay at this property was very sad to me personally. I have visited this property 3-4 times in the last decade and I very much want to like it. It has great potential and I like old downtown hotels. However, my shabby room was forgettable. The M Club breakfast was the worse breakfast I have experienced in my 25 years of traveling (as a Marriott Titanium Elite). It was worse than the lowliest of Fairfield Inn breakfasts—cold overdone eggs, day old danish— a rude hostess with gloveless hands placed fallen food back on the plate—something that horrified all of us Covid weary travelers. Thankfully the hostess mostly ignored us and checked her emails on the guest computer. In short, this is not the Marriott excellence I have enjoyed in the past. A couple of bright notes: the staff (née the M Club) we’re friendly, competent, and solicitous—especially Kristen. And the Plough Restaurant was extraordinary!

Stayed 4 nights at this hotel for a convention in July. Check-in staff were great and organized. Room was adequate but nothing special. No housekeeping at all for 4 days. No replacement of coffee, tea etc. I could have called desk to get some but geez for what I paid. Breakfast was $20 which for a hotel is normal. Food was ok. The Plough restaurant expensive and I have to say food not very good. During a convention with 1500-2000 attendees bar closes at 10pm on a Saturday. Told they were out of Yeungling beer only to see bar tender bring up cases 20 minutes later. Only one secondary food service at front of hotel, far away from some of the halls/ballrooms. Prices were exorbitant. A nice touch was parking was included with room for convention goers. Free wifi only if you are a Bonvoy member! Really in this day and age!

Been a lifetime titanium with Marriott, I generally love their hotels and normally don’t leave bad reviews especially these days after COVID. This hotel is an exception. The service is very bad and deserves to be called out. The staff during check-in was so rude, she pretty much ignored our presence and ignored basic questions. The pool is out service and did not mention it anywhere. Second day morning when we wanted to stop by the M lounge, they decided not to open for the day. It was only 8 in the morning and they were already knocking on the door to see if we checked out. This is def worst Marriott I have been to. If you are bringing family to Lancaster, stay away from this property, they will ruin your visit.

It’s a beautiful hotel with a friendly staff, but…We we’re given a room that overlooks the rooftop bars next door. There were people partying until 2am and the sound travels into the rooms. I went to the front desk the next morning and was told ear plugs are free at the desk. Great, but who wants to have to get dressed again at 1am to go to the desk to get them? I told them there should be two complimentary pairs in each room on that side of the hotel. Then the breakfast…they charge $17.50 for the exact same breakfast buffet that is free at every Hampton Inn Hotel. There are terrific breakfast cafes within a block or two in every direction of the hotel. Eat at one of those instead! We liked the “New Holland Coffee Company” across the street, and Prince Street Cafe two blocks away. On Monday, the day we were checking out, we were trying to save time and eat at their breakfast buffet anyway, and it closed an hour before it was supposed to. That was inconvenient! We went back to New Holland Coffee Company and had a great made to order breakfast that was less expensive than the hotels skimpy buffet.

For the price you pay this place was overwhelmingly disappointing! The bell hop Don was the highlight of our visit. He was kind, helpful, and respectful. I cannot say much about the other customer service. Upon checking in, I was told the room I reserved was not available and wanted to know if I would take the two double bed room. I did not agree and they moved me to an upgraded version of the original room reserved. The city view from our room was great,(pic included) however for what you pay for the supposed upscale accommodations, why were there cobwebs in the corners of the room? (Pic included) Once calling down to express our concern, it took approximately 25 mins for Someone to come remove them. We chose to have a drink at the downstairs rest./bar: Overpriced with pompous and rude bartenders. We had reservations at the rooftop bar. Very great atmosphere, but again the overpriced drinks were not worth the price you pay. (And you better make reservations, they advertises walk ins… this is mot true). You also are sat at a long fireside table facing other parties at the same table . I found this odd to be face to face with with strangers. But the table with fire was gorgeous(pic included). Only after asking them to light the coals at dark toward the end of our time did we get to see this. disappointingly had no crown royal at either bars on site. The server Nate at the rooftop bar, the Exchange, was sweet and gave great service. High Five to Nate! ….If you are expecting a breakfast included in your stay, forget it! Nothing included in your original rate charged other than corner cobwebs and rude front desk and bartenders. Again, if not for our interaction with Don and Nate I would have nothing nice to say about the accommodations but the very cool sliding bathroom door and pretty evening city view.

1st the room had not been stocked well. 1 wash cloth and no coffee creamers. There was a festival going on in the square and it was extremely noisy to try to get to sleep before midnight. The restaurant is way overpriced and minimal in selections. The TV had a lot of premium channels but not many local ones. The A/C did not work well at all. we were quite toasty and did not need to use any covers. Would not stay again

We were looking forward to our stay here for a family wedding. We were so disappointed. It was packed with visitors for 4 weddings and a dance competition. Not Bonvoy members, we had to pay for everything - internet, breakfast, parking . . . and our room was never cleaned during our stay.

The hotel looks promising from the outside, and the lobby is impressive. The only compliment I can give this hotel is the staff in the Starbucks are nice. Everything else was subpar. There was a very obvious blood stain on the duvet in my room. I requested more pillows and got a call two hours later that they had no extra pillows. Turns out they did, just not foam pillows. All of the preceding issues would just drop this hotel down to mediocre. I am giving one star (terrible!) based on two things I found intolerable: the staff in the bar/lounge is beyond dismissive and there was an extremely loud prom going on the night we stayed, with music until 1am and screaming for quite a while after. Presumably for an event on site they have some control over volume, but if you can hear the music on the sixth floor, that’s unacceptable.
