So glad we found out where this was during the day or it may have been difficult but it was a dark December day! People lovely, caring but not over the top. Room comfortable with plenty of towels. Small bathroom, but excellent value for money. Evening meal was lovely as was breakfast. So great to find somewhere affordable with good...

Me and Hubby have just returned from a 3 night B&B stay stay here. What a lovely place to spend a break-away, with a warm welcome from Kirsty and Matt the new Landlords. A gorgeous young couple, nothing too much trouble for them, and they work so hard to make everything as comfortable as possible. The Inn itself is set...

Stay locally recently on holiday & visited this pub on numerous occasions. Good quality food at decent prices, freshly prepared on the premises and a good selection of well kept local ales. The owners & staff were a pleasure to speak with & nothing was too much trouble - highly recommended.

This is a proper Yorkshire pub, workmanlike & comfortable, we'd travelled up for a gundog training event in the locality & the accommodation suited & served us very well. The food was absolutely excellent with a lot of choice, the staff were very, very helpful, chatty & accommodating, the hosts have recently taken over & are working very hard at...

We stayed here for a couple of nights, breakfast and evening meal both days. The setting is very good, just outside the Yorkshire Dales, but with a good view towards the east. The room was good value, much cheaper than many similar places. The food was pub food rather than restaurant. I had liver and bacon one day, and a...

Ate here with our daughter and grandchildren on a Wed evening. We checked in advance that children were welcome to eat in bar area and on arrival we were welcomed and seated in a quiet area of the bar. Most of us had fish and chips while one chose the chicken pie. Food was good and plentiful. Service was excellent....

Visited with friends today for lunch. Newish landlord who was very welcoming. Not a large menu, but good choice and everything freshly cooked or homemade. Food enjoyed by all and good portions to. In a lovely setting, worth a visit if you are in the area.

Stumbled upon this when looking for a 2 night escape which would be pet friendly and only an hour or so from our home. We were in luck with The Shoulder of Mutton! Mathew, Kirstie & their staff were so friendly & welcoming to us and also our 2 dogs. The room was fine with a "very full" hospitality tray,...
