We didnt stay overnight. The exterior of the rental units looked well maintained. The campground toilets were very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Food was surprisingly good. The recreation area was crowded and space at a premium but there was a footrace that likely drew the larger than usual crowd. The area is not flat by any means. Careful pulling a trailer

Our first foray into a resort of this type and it was really much better than we expected (we already booked a return next month). We booked a "cabin" that looked really rustic from the outside, but actually was quite accommodating and comfy, and nicely secluded. The other guests we met at the pool area were uniformly friendly, and while, as some reviews have noted, there is clearly a clique element, it wasn't an exclusionary clique. I mean, the members know each other and it shows, but everyone was incredibly friendly. We played in the weekly trivia tournament and it was fun and inclusive. We stayed during COVID days, so the night club and interior dining was closed, but the pool bar was open and the restaurant served takeout. Food was pretty good bar food quality; and the drinks at the pool bar were fine. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the surroundings were beautiful.

We just spent my birthday in my birthday suit as required. Sunny Rest exceeded our expectations. The cabin we rented was clean and comfortable. The facilities were a bit limited since we were there mid week and late in the season. But the pool, hot tub, conversation pool were all wonderful. The bar was open as was the snack bar with very tasty pizza; cheeseburgers and tacos that we tried. As guests, we also had a full breakfast included in the restaurant. We heard from the other guests that the Prime Rib on Friday night is especially tasty and always sells out. We’ll need to come back next season to verify that and we certainly plan to do just that! We hiked the nature trails as well as most of the streets. Since it”s located on a mountain, this was quite a nice workout but very comfortable “au natural,”

We visited Sunny Rest resort for July 4 long weekend - We arrived the Thursday before. We tented so I can't say anything about the rooms, but the bathroom and shower facilities were adequate and clean. Its a beautiful large property with trails and all.

We visited the bar and snack bar many times during our stay. Bar service was fast and friendly. the food was adequate but seemed just thrown together at times - but it was a busy weekend so maybe that played into it. The pizza was pretty good and we were surprised it was actually real pizza and not some frozen stuff

The service at the snackbar was not to great. We visited for breakfast lunch and dinner and can't say anyone was that pleasant or helpful except for the one guy taking orders. Seemed like we were bothering them or interrupting them from something whenever we showed up so we started ordering from the pool bar most of the time.
The first morning we were there (friday) we interupted the girl who was working (dark curly hair I think) from her smoke break and got the 'hold on darlin' while she finished up her 'cigarette'. the next time we went up that day for lunch it was like we were an inconvenience to them all when we pulled her and the other male staff away from looking at something on her cell phone.
The older gentleman who served us a few times over the weekend was good. Real personable even though he looked hot and busy.
The pool area was a little crowded at times for my taste, but the view and music was good
The resort is green friendly and everyone (including the on duty staff which surprised me) seemed to be partaking. We enjoyed the freedom to partake in the friendly environment and even got some accessories from the shop.
Overall- we will go again but would go when it was alittle less busy. Scheduled activities and music were fun.
The people we met and hung out with were friendly and welcoming. We made some great friends and most of the staff were great and the security presence made us feel safe. The fireworks were fantastic and that was the highlight of the trip.

It seems that weekdays most people are somewhat local or have accmodations on sight. Mornings by the pool, were very quite and relaxing. About 11:00 AM people suddnly shoed, it was volley ball time. Seemed teams were set, but players kept the game to only one hour. The downside was food service. Lunch selection, very limited and not good. Apparently the restaurant is only open weekends and for breakfast so again very limited choices. Breakfast is included, best meal of the days we were there. Rooms are modest, but clean and comfortable.

My wife and I spent the weekend here at one of the hotel rooms near the camping area, which makes up the majority of the resort. It is a clean basic room with all necessary amenities for non campers like us. These are basic rooms with bathroom, one bed, mini fridge and air conditioning The resort features a volleyball court and tennis courts for active guests and two pools and a hot tub for relaxing. We dined at Irv’s Bistro and Munchies Cafe and had drinks from Streakers Bar by the pool. Our visit to Flashers night club was interrupted by a sudden power outage that unfortunately lasted the entire evening. A generator kept the band playing for just a little while. It was a pretty good experience at Sunny Rest and we look forward to our next visit here.

Just went for the day, second visit. A relaxing, morning walk, read a book, any and all of the above. Lot's of regulars, but contrary to a visit last year, very friendly. The morning, inspite of great weather the pool area, including hot tub and relaxing pool, just about empty. All you need is sun screen and a smile and a few towels.

I have been going to Sunny Rest since the 90's and have seen many positive and negative changes. I do not enjoy the fact that they allow way too many single males into the resort. It is not a very comfortable feeling knowing your girlfriend or wife is going to be hit on several time daily by single men looking for a" score". We do not go there for my girlfriend to be hit on. We enjoy spending time "together" nude, outdoors. We love the experience however, we wish management would emphasize to the single men this is "no hit zone" when they enter the lodge. If a couple or single female is interested in this type of activity, let them be the aggressor. The constant single male attention is a true turnoff for many that visit the lodge. I wish management would balance the gender percentage, and not just focus on their bottom line. Finally, i wish they would bring back the indoor hot tub. J and B

Our first experience going to a naturalist / clothes free setting- Sunny Rest Resort, not this specific lodge within the resort. We are at the point of our lives where we don’t care and was a bucket list experience for my husband. We stayed at the nature view rooms block, a newer group of rooms. I was very pleased with the cleaning and comfort of the room. It has a nice sink and large counter space, mini fridge. I found I was more comfortable than I thought in my natural self- overall folks are welcoming and everyone is there to relax and have a good time. Think of it as the Planet Fitness of the naturist folk. You will need to be prepared to indirectly indicate if you are “living the lifestyle “ or vanilla. The resort is in the process of opening a new restaurant, but I thought the food was great at the snack bar- awesome pizza! Clean pool and bathroom areas.

Have not been to an all nude resort in the US but have on the islands. What I found was a very nice, clean place. The queen size bed was comfortable. The food was average. Nothing great, but if beach food is your thing, you.ll be fine.

Most of the guests are members, and they make it known that you are an outsider. When I arrived at the pool I joined a volleyball game. Lots of rules in regards to the actual game, which already took a lot of the fun out of it.

The woman in charge was on my team, and she made it clear that she did not like me and if I missed a shot, she would visibly get upset. Really, isn’t this supposed to be fun?

After the first few plays, she would place herself in front of me not allowing me to hit the ball. This was a best of 7 game and I had one hour of zero fun.

Afterwards I just hung out in the pool. Unless you are a guest or couple, no one is really interested in talking with you.

Like I said, this is a nice place, but I will wait until I visit the islands again before staying at an all nude resort.
