Stayed for a weekend to visit Hersheypark. It's a no-frills motel. The room was decent, clean. Enough towels for myself and family (although we brought our own anyway). The pool was clean and open from 9am-9pm, although one night, there were people in there a bit later than 9. Oh well. Very close to Hersheypark, which is a bonus as places that are closer to the park are more expensive. There are also some stores within walking distance, CVS, Wendy's, and a diner literally right next door (food is meh but cheap). Wouldn't stay again, but for the price, it was a good deal.
I was in this room as well. I have to say I saw the droppings the night before, it was so late at night and we had already brought all her bags in a few hours earlier before headed to Hersheypark. I was exhausted and I didn’t want to freak out the kids. I simply wanted to leave that morning at 10 AM and not pay for the second night. That’s all I wanted. I’m not sure why that was so difficult. I just wanted to pay for the night that we stayed in and let it all go. But instead they insisted on taking yet another of the rate With allegedly $100 refund that I haven’t seen yet.. It was beyond me because quite honestly I felt like we could probably get a refund and that was not my goal at all I was happy to pay for the night that we stayed I just didn’t want to stay another night. She stated that we were happy with the room when we checked in but the only conversation I had with her was before I checked in. So I’m not sure how she assumes that we were so happy with the room. The kids who are 10 and 12 called the room “creepy“. It didn’t bother me but in hindsight I think the kids had some thing. If children don’t want to stay in a place to me that says a lot. Again all we asked was that we were able to leave and not have to pay the second night. We didn’t try To get a refund or discount on the night we stayed. We just wanted to pay for that night and Move on And I swear I was sleeping on wood. I have never slept so poorly in my life…
There are multiple reasons why I recommend finding someplace else to stay. But first and foremost we found rodent droppings in our room when we awoke after the first night. The owner then proceeded to tell us that it was “normal” for mice to be in the rooms. We booked two nights and refused to stay the second night. She absolutely refused to provide a refund for finding the rodent droppings saying “you were happy last night”....well of course we were happy, we hadn’t found the rat droppings in the room. Other things that causes us to warn others about. Outdated rooms, peeling wallpaper, beds are rock hard, holes in window screens, torn carpeting, urine covered toilet when we checked in and only provide hand towels (charge for other towels if desired). Free breakfast includes Hostess cakes and Fruit Loops.…
Got there late after a full day at Hershey Park. My husband thought for sure we were sleeping on box springs because the beds are hard as rock. We booked 2 rooms 5 people. Each room has towels for 2 and were told that its $9 for additional towels!! Non smoking rooms but there were cigarette butts outside the door of the rooms. Needs updating and wasn't somewhere I would want to stay again. No blanket just a sheet and a shiny cover on the beds. Lady at the front was very friendly when we were checking out.
If it wasn't so late at night and us being exhausted after being at Hershey Park, we would have searched elsewhere. Definitely not a bargain even for an overnights stay. A no smoking room with cigarette burns on the comforter, had to play exterminator to get the flies out, the rugs and lamp covers were filthy and need to be changed. Room needs some TLC. Would have given a terrible rating, but the lady at the front desk was nice. Should have stayed a little further down the road like last time where the room was clean, a continental breakfast served and the price of the room was less or the same. We like to try different places, but this was a mistake. Don't like to give negative reviews, but in this case, others need to know what to expect. Should have known what to expect when we got a Bates motel key instead of a swipe card 😬…
