This hotel is awesome! From the front desk to the parking attendant all top notch. Fairly easy walk to PNC, and Acrisure not too mention PPG next door. The parking garage on location will accommodate a large suv. Clean fun environment and good cookies at check in!
Upon arriving we were taken back by all the construction in the area, but we soon realized that we could have a very enjoyable stay even in light of that. I cannot wait to return when the construction is complete and have an even better experience!
Hotel rooms are not renovated. Not clean, especially the bathrooms...stains everywhere. Iron didn't work and the ironing board looked like it was used for everything except that! walls are very thin and people talking in the hallways will wake you up. There are much better options for the price.
We stayed at the downtown doubletree in Pittsburgh for the WVU/Pitt game at Heinz Field on Sept 1. It’s the second time we’ve stayed in less than a month, last time was for the Metallica concert at PNC Park in August. Both experiences were great. The location is incredible! Can literally walk anywhere and the train is directly across the street as well. The service was great, staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. We will be frequent visitors for sure, as we are in Pittsburgh a lot!!!!
EVERYthing has been fantastic! They take care of their guests from start to finsih. My stay was peaceful...I was able to get much needed rest and away from the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. My bed was soooooo comfortable that I forgot to get out of it! All the amenities I requested were present, all staff were friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the city and the happenings. A lot of construction going on but they gave me routes to bypass it all. Referred me to some famous restaurants in the area. I felt almost spoiled. I requested safe checkout to coincide with my flight and shuttle and they gave it with no problem!! I plan to stay again in the upcoming months and enjoy the rest of the hotel... The only issues were the noise from a family with small children that obviously had no control of them knocking on random doors, running amuck in the hall and yelling while the parents watched...No control over this from the hotel. The shower dripped throughout the night... could use an update to the rooms as the wallpaper is buckling. Other than that... I had a very pleasant stay. Hotel is conveniently located in a 5 minute walk to the center of the city.…
I’ve always considered DoubleTree by Hilton a fairly “safe” brand to stay with for quick trips since most are updated, clean, and have great service. Unfortunately, this location fell short on all accounts. 1. While check-in was quick, the front desk did not/would not provide the usual branded cookies. A small miss, but it set the tone for the rest of the stay. 2. I was forced to load and transport my own luggage cart as the bellhop and valet simply ignored me. 3. The only bar and restaurant at the property was understaffed, which meant there was no bar service until 5pm the entire weekend. 4. While I am aware that most hotels have chosen to opt out of daily room cleaning services, I still expect there to be service IF NEEDED. We were left without additional towels and bath tissue when requested and told to “come down to the front desk to pick it up” after calling to request it a 2nd time. 5. The room itself needed serious upgrades. Shower was chipped and the wallpaper (seriously?) was peeling in the closet fashioned as a bathroom. All things considered, I regret selecting this location over other hotels that I’m sure would have been better suited. I’ll rethink choosing a DoubleTree going forward as there doesn’t seem to be much consistency across the brand.…
This room has seen better days. Cons: carpet bit thread worn, mildew on the shower/tub, beds sag, door trim rotted out, tv volume starts at #12 – unable to lower it. Pros: L shaped room, desk area, downtown location. I went out for breakfast on my last morning. When I returned, someone had entered my room. Invasion of my privacy! Lucky for me, my suitcase was locked and I was practically packed. I reported the incident to the Front Desk as I was checking out. Stated this was not cool! He asked if I wanted to file a report with Security? I declined, as my ride would be arriving shortly. Bad example for a Hilton property. I will not return to this hotel.
The hotel suite was lovely, as an Honors member we received a free upgrade and warm chocolate chip cookies. The suite was spacious except the bathroom was tiny and the door just cleared the toliet. The staff at the hotel were very friendly. Parking garage was not well marked and we had to circle around 3 times to access the parking. When we mentioned the poor signage-the attendant acknowledged it was poor. Well do something about it! The maid knocking on the door at 9 am is annoying. They should have known that we were only staying one night-so wait until after checkout time or develop a system where the staff know what rooms were empty.
Great location. Easy walking to restaurants and the ball park. Room was clean (king suite with hide-a-bed in living area). The valet parking was very efficient, easy in and out at any time of day. The Bigelow Grill downstairs was excellent for breakfast and dinner. We utilized the pool twice during our stay and the kids (14 and 11) really enjoyed it. Lots of natural light and spacious....only downside was no hot tub. Staff was friendly and services were up to par. Would gladly stay again.
Great location an hotel. Staff very accommodating an restaurant very good. The bar provided a good environment an was open for service. Room was nice a spacious. We had the two bedroom suite. Parking somewhat expensive.
