This is now called McKnight Hotel but was formerly Hampton Inn. It shows. The rooms are exceptionally well furnished for a hotel in this price range, modern and clean. The beds are very comfortable. Downsides were an unfriendly check-in - a smile costs nothing - and the budget boxed breakfast. There is also an access issue - the hotel is on a divided highway, so a major detour may be required if arriving in the wrong direction. Overall though it’s a solid 4.
Do not stay here! Entire hotel needs a complete renovation. Room door didn't close properly-we had to shove it to close it. Bathroom mirror was cracked and bathtub was rusted and in poor shape. Towels were thin and scratchy. Bathroom vanity and dresser were very scratched and well worn. Although a "non-smoking" hotel, it smelled very strong like smoke throughout. Even though we had a reservation, our room was not ready when we arrived, even though it was after check in time. Had to wait an additional hour to check in. Front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming at all both at check in or check out. Access to hotel from a one way road was extremely difficult and entrance very narrow. Will not stay again .
This is no longer a Hampton Inn. It's now simply called Pittsburgh North. For the most part, it was a good stay. The room was large and clean, the pool was fine (warm water too), and the hot tub worked. I would have rated it higher except for two issues. First, there is really no breakfast. They do warn you that breakfast is "grab and go," but what that actually means is they give you a box with a single serving orange juice, a granola bar, and a muffin in it. It's not much to eat and we really only found the muffin to even be edible. Second, the location is awful. It is accessible to the freeway, but it's hard to find this place in the dark and it's very difficult to turn back around if you miss it. There's a church right next to it if that helps anyone. Despite it being a mostly good experience, I probably wouldn't return just because of the location.…
The hotel was clean. Our beds were comfortable. The front desk clerk was so friendly and accommodating. We didn't eat the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. But most importantly, the pool and hot tub were open, clean and warm! (this was our 3rd hotel for our trip and the other two had closed pools that led to extremely disappointed kids!) We would stay here again!
Went to check in and the girl (purple hair) literally was high as a kite. I spelled my name numerous times before she found my reservation. It took her at least 15 mins to check us in at times just zoning out and closing her eyes. She then put us in a room for two ppl and I booked it for a family of 5. Then we were given a different room and it was dirty. Old bottles of tea still on the floor in the room, burns in the blankets, dirty sheets. This place was so bad we decided to just drive the rest of the way home and not stay. The only person who seemed to know what they were doing was a lady named Jamie, she was very nice and friendly. Also the purple haired lady had no idea who we were when we went to tell them we were not staying ( we literally had only checked in less than 2 hours before) do yourself a huge favor and stay somewhere else.…
When I first got here, they sent me to an occupied room with a clueless man in there. Then they sent me to a different room, which was filthy. I turned the nob on the sink….nothing happened. And don’t mind the mystery stains on the couch, they just smell like cigarettes. I think the refrigerator is oozing liquid but I can’t tell for sure if it’s coming from there or the microwave. The couch is so worn it’s shaped like a U. Very comfy. It’s your classic nice hotel on the outside but on the inside it’s putrid. When I decided to suck it up and just lock the door for the night, I came to find the lock didn’t even work. I was worried that someone would walk in while I was sleeping, so I thought that the mold in the shower could be my good luck gem for the night. 10/10 recommend.
I will Never stay at this hotel again in my lifetime. Toilet was broken and never got fixed. Bugs was on the bed and it reeked of smells. The door wouldn’t close securely without having to slam the door and keep it locked.
Staff shortage but friendly and helpful. I give them 5 stars ⭐️ Covid has cause many issues for everyone but staff is tops! 🙌✨✨🌹 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank You for accommodating us on our family emergency trip.
The hotel is in an odd area outside of the city, but it’s a convenient distance away from everything. Our room had a wet and stained carpet. We also heard a dog barking several times even though it stated that no dogs are allowed at this hotel. The staff were polite and the room was decent otherwise.
When we came to stay here we did not know what to expect with the different reviews. First the bad. If you try to get a king bed with a sofa bed room - don't! The room we were given had a hole in the bathroom wall the size of two fists. The bathroom light was burnt out. The sofa bed was in horrendous shape. The good. When we called to complain the front staff apologized and asked us to wait 15 minutes while they found a better room for us. They moved us to a room with two queen beds that had none of these issues and was actually in pretty good shape. They reduced the price for the different room and made sure that the room was up to standard. They went above and beyond trying to make things right as best they could. The rooms are all over the place was seen in the reviews. It is obviously falling into disrepair but the staff will relocate you if they can if you ask nicely. This hotel definitely needs to be updated very soon. There was no evidence of the Hilton "Clean stay" program. There were no stickers on the doors. There was no covering on the TV remote. There was no evidence than other a standard cleaning was done. The breakfast is a box with a fruit cocktail, two fruit bars/breakfast bars, and an OJ. That was it. If you plan to eat breakfast, break cereal and milk to put in the refrigerator. I hope the owners/manager take action to update this hotel soon or I am not sure it will keep its Hilton designation as they are not doing nearly anything the other Hampton Inns are doing as part of the Hilton network.…
