Terrific stay. When a reservation error had us on a quiet floor (canine free), the staff upgraded us to a corner, queen jr suite to provide more room for our doggo and Mom and I to relax and enjoy. They also provided a bed and bowls for the queen! Great location and staff. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monaco during Christmas weekend. This is truly the dog friendliest hotel we have ever stayed at. It seemed like every guest had a dog with them, and this hotel truly welcomes them. We used to stay across the street at The Omni William Penn every Christmas, but while they allow you to bring your dog, they give you a downgraded room when you do. At Hotel Monaco we were offered a loaner dog bed and lots of treats, and we were given a lovely, whimsical, large room on the 8th floor with a terrific view of my favorite building - The Alcoa Building. Room service was super-quick and delivered in covid-resistant, eco-friendly, sustainable packaging. Towels and linens were of high quality, as was the bed and pillows. Water pressure in the shower was excellent in the luxurious bathroom. Only suggestions would be more hooks in the bathroom and towel bars near the sink to hang used hand towels. We had originally planned to stay for 3 nights, but our dog got very sick after the second night (we were seen bolting outside through the lobby more than once) and we decided to head home before our third night. I called the front desk to explain we needed to checkout early, but understood I had booked an unrefundable rate, so did not ask for nor expected a refund for the 3rd night. As we checked out, the very kind front desk person told us she hoped our dog would be okay, and that we would not be charged for the third night. Super kind, smart, and thoughtful. We will be returning to the Hotel Monaco for all of our future Christmas visits with or without our dog (she's fine now.) Thanks so much Hotel Monaco.…
The room is extremely small. Decor was very nice. Loud from all the horns and bells from around the hotel. Elevators SUPER slow. Not blown away. Expected more. No electric charging option for valet parking. What nice hotel doesn't have this option? Super antiquated.
I had a great experience! The service was excellent - at check in they asked if I wanted coffee or tea in the room and provided a tea kettle and tea at my request. Room service is limited but the front desk texted everyday to see if I wanted new towels etc. everyday. I had an in room massage with Christina and it was fabulous and she was very kind to accommodate my schedule. The happy hour and room service was also great and I appreciated the workout room and the in room yoga mat.
Great quick one night stay for business. Location is in the center of downtown, with numerous restaurants in short walking distance. Staff is friendly, bed is super comfortable, and free standing tub was great for a soak. Toiletries were great as well. Definitely recommend.
I stayed here for a few nights the last trip back to Pittsburgh and it was wonderful. The design of the lobby was intriguing and colorful and that same trend followed you all the way into your room. One of my favorite things about the hotel is the art that they have on the walls because it's unique, where most hotels use the same things over and over again, this felt fresh and new. The rooms take on a this same unique color story with a kelly green headboard, brightly colored lamp, to the yellow patterned wallpaper in the bathroom. It felt modern and inviting which isn't easy to find in other hotels in Pittsburgh.
Wonderful boutique hotel interestingly and colorfully decorated in keeping with the Kimpton brand. Great historic building. Immaculate. Quiet. Spacious rooms with comfortable bed and appreciated room-darkening draperies. Beautiful marble and glass open shower with terrific water pressure and temperature. Aromatic bath products. Great bathroom lighting and abundant thick, quality towels. Nice working desk with plug-ins and wI-fi although desk chair was too low to the floor and not height-adjustable. Front desk staffer Grace checked me in - she couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, a genuine delight. The woman with whom I checked out wasn’t nearly as pleasant or upbeat. I enjoyed the complimentary evening wine tasting and the on-site restaurant. I would definitely return and recommend the property to others.…
Stayed one night on a quick weekend trip. Very pleased with the hotel. Interesting design & decor, like most Kimptons. Rooms weren't the largest, but bed was comfortable, super clean, and bathroom/shower was very nice, but it was the service that made the hotel stand out. Uniformly friendly and helpful, from the doorman who quickly explained the valet versus self-parking options ($38 valet vs $6 self park across the street on the weekend), to the front desk staff. Well equipped gym also, with 2 Peloton bikes in addition to the usual equipment. A great choice for a stay in downtown Pittsburgh.
When my fiance and I found this hotel when were planning a long weekend in Pittsburgh. The rave reviews lured us in initially, and I can now confirm it was for good reason. The whole experience was incredible. From the beginning, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We mentioned it was our first time to Pittsburgh and they welcomed us with lots of recommendations for the best experience. The hotel itself offered some wonderful amenities. One of our favorites was the texting feature, where we able to effortlessly request house-keeping with the tap of a finger. They also offered a wonderful happy hour in their funky living room, as well as coffee in the morning, which was a fun experience. We could've lounged in that space all day. The character in this building is unmatched, with precise attention to detail everywhere you look. Not to mention, incredibly homey rooms that were clean, modern and fun. Overall, we would recommend this spot to anyone in the city, it was fabulous!…
Our daughter was married at the Kimpton, Hotel Monaco 2 weeks ago. She and her fiance chose Hotel Monaco because of the positive vibe and attentiveness they received during their venue search. I can't say enough positive things about how well that continued through all phases, before, during and after the event. We couldn't have asked for better, more attentive service. We really felt as though the staff was as invested in our wedding and reception being a success as we were. Lindsey, Emily, Aasim and others were right there when we needed something and even when we didn't just to see if they could be of help. We couldn't have chosen a better venue. We booked over 30 rooms for our guests during Covid, the Christmas holiday, and a Steelers football weekend when the hotel was sold out, and it still felt like we had their full attention. Our guests all commented that it was a wonderful wedding experience and that the food was delicious. The hotel rooms, as well as the hotel itself, were comfortable, very clean and just so much fun! Thanks again!!…
