Stayed here 10 years ago on work trip and thought it was a cool old-style hotel with some nice ambiance. Stayed again recently and it doesn't seem like anything is different or refreshed. 1pm is THE earliest they'll let you go to your room without $50 upcharge. I tried at 1205 and was told I could go ahead for that charge. I went to a pub for lunch to kill time. Saved $32 by eating lunch. Coffee maker outlet didn't work, so we made morning coffee on the floor next to an outlet. Outlet at desk didn't work. The imbedded reading lights on the bed didn't work (are they supposed to)? TV and remote are VERY dated. There was mold on the tiling on the side of the shower. I could rub on it with my wash cloth with moderate force and it would come off. This was noticed in several different spots on the shower. Bell hop and the housekeeping on my floor were positives. Location is also good. There are just too many misses here to justify the cost and this being up to Omni quality

Hotel's Favourite
This was certainly not my first stay at this hotel; however, this visit was every bit as enjoyable as the last. If nothing else, the hotel is consistent in their service and hospitality. We were in town for a wedding that was held at the hotel and the event and our stay were both seamless. We had a corner room, with exceptional views. Being on a corner, we were lucky enough to have views of one of my favorite cities in two directions. The location of this hotel is so perfect. I find Pittsburgh a very walkable city and this remains true when staying here. We were able to reach Station Square, the North Shore and the Strip District easily on foot. Bear in mind, the front desk told us they did not recommend walking to the Strip; however, we tried it anyhow and were so pleased that we did. It is a little more than a mile, but very enjoyable (maybe not so much on a super hot or rainy day). You can also reach the cultural district on Penn Ave so easily! This area is fantastic for outdoor seating and people watching. For the most part, the staff of the hotel are so accommodating. The front desk staff and all the event/restaurant/bar staff were so pleasant and friendly. I was a little surprised by the housekeeping staff, but did not have extensive interactions to really judge. The beds are SO comfy and the bathroom very clean with very nice toiletries. I also appreciated having a fridge in the room. The water pressure is very impressive in the shower; I prefer a heavy pressure and this was just ideal. And, please note, this hotel has amazing hair dryers....they are not your typical two-setting (high/low) dryers. Each room has an ion hair dryer with heat setting AND level of air. I really appreciated this so much. On two occasions our room key did stop working for no apparent reason, but the front desk quickly fixed this each time. However, it was a nuisance to have to run to the lobby late at night and again in the morning just to get back into our room. We chose to park in the garage directly across the street from the hotel instead of using valet - this is just a personal preference as the garage is much cheaper and we knew that we would not need our car out during our stay. However, the valet and bell men are EXTREMELY helpful and welcoming. The hotel also has plenty of elevators - we were never waiting more than seconds to catch one. Overall, this is just a gem in the middle of downtown. The hotel is simply gorgeous....and it doesn't hurt that we always see a Steeler or two walking around!

Checked in at 4PM on Friday, Sept 9, 2022. Parked in the public garage across the street. Reception staff is excellent and friendly. I was one of the 'guests of the day' and upon entering my room discovered a piece of cheesecake and welcome card from the hotel manager. Shortly we discovered that the toilet was clogged and wouldn't flush, probably from a previous guest as there was toilet paper half way down the drain. On our way to the Pirate game, I notified the front desk. They apologized and said that it would be fixed ASAP. We returned from the game and clearly someone from maintenance had accessed the room and toilet. However, the toilet would slowly flush and quickly became clogged again. We spent the entire stay without a functional toilet and made use of the restrooms in the lobby. Upon checkout, I was asked by the hotel reception 'how was your stay?' I mentioned that it was a good stay with the exception of not having a functional toilet. The person at reception apologized and then wished me a nice day. There are many newer hotels in downtown Pittsburgh for similar prices, so I won't be heading back to the Omni William Penn any time soon.

Fantastic place to stay. Walking distance to ballpark and restaurants. Unique hotel with great rooms. Would highly recommend staying here when visiting the area. Parked in underground across the street. Sorry but more affordable and much faster than valet.

Thank you for the feedback! We are glad you had a great time! Yes, parking is based on what works based for guest. Sometimes it is parking on your own if you aren't going anywhere. If you do want to come and go as you please valet might be the best option!

Loved this hotel. It has the old world charm, the rooms were spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Rooms are a bit dated, Yet well maintained What I loved about this hotel Perfect Location, In the heart of downtown Pittsburgh The front desk associates are friendly Concierge is helpful Few things that I wish was different 1. Internet should be free 2. No swimming pool, I should’ve looked up for it. Kids Were disappointed 3. No coffee station in the lobby. Overall recommended place to stay if you are visiting Pittsburgh downtown for a Day or two

so the hotel i’m staying at gives you instructions on how to log on to wifi. here’s the catch you can’t log on unless you call a 188 number- they proceed to try to upsell you internet packages. then when you ask about free internet they tell you you need to call the front desk and enroll in their free rewards program. no one explains this to you at check in. some real shady business practices if you ask me and I would never recommend this place as a result. Beautiful place but scammers at their best. so apparently i am enrolled now in their free rewards program- still can’t log on to internet and when i asked if this is a common complaint they said no- finding that very hard to believe- word to the wise- if traveling to Pittsburgh there are several other nice hotels besides the omni- find one and book there!

I am so sorry to hear about your stay. This is not the case regarding the WIFI and processes. Seems like some confusion and perhaps misinformation at the front desk. Please give me a call at 412-553-5112 and I would be happy to clear this up for you. Thank you for your feedback!

We loved everything about this hotel. Service was flawless, room was 100% clean, the entire facility was beautiful. Our only regret was we did not eat dinner at the hotel restaurant. Instead we wasted time trying to eat closer to PNC Stadium. We will stay here again when in Pittsburgh and dine at the hotel.

The room was ok, but old. Peeling wall paper and permanent stains in bathroom. Our sink was clogged and house keeping skipped us accidentally. Issues were rectified, but for The price I was disappointed.

The lobby and the dining room are straight out of a 1930s movie. I expected to see Clark Gable walk through and get a cup of coffee. (He was a no-show.) Having stayed in a few older, classic hotels, I've learned you never know what you're going t get. This one is in excellent condition, with large, relatively modern rooms and a nice sized bathroom. Lighting was on par with most of the chains, a mixture of good and bad, but the bed was comfortable and the property clean. Staff were quite professional and polite. Elevators were surprisingly efficient. Despite the modern upgrades, I do think the plumbing in my room may have been original as my sink was painfully slow to drain, as was the toilet. If you're looking for something "different" than a run of the mill Hilton, Hyatt or Marriott, you'll like this.

This hotel is in a good area of the city. It looos super old and it’s quite ornate. The lobby and check-in area are amazing. I could sit there and just look around for hours. I really liked the old clock in the lobby. The building appears to have three towers. I’d like to stay near the top next time.
