The place looked really nice online when we got there the TV didn't work and the bathroom looked like it was falling apart. Went to the hot tub which was not hot at all and the only good thing was the hike. We tried to make the best of it but at the end were unimpressed and went to a casino resort nearby. A few days later I get a notification by hotels.com saying that the hotel claimed we never made our reservation. Which was obviously a complete lie when I called the hotel they transferred me to their accounting department which never got back.. never again

LOVE the Shawnee Inn! It has the most adorable rustic/vintage charm! Beautiful location as well. Our room was clean and the bathroom was nicely renovated! I've stayed here several times and have never been disappointed! And the brewery on the property is also super convenient! Great pizza, beer, and live music!

My sisters and I planned a weekend away for the 3 of us to enjoy. This inn looked picturesque and fun. We left behind our spouses, children, and pets to relax, and have a much-needed good time together. We got to our room and the heat was not working. It was blowing cold 65°F air and would not meet the temperature it was set to. The TV was not working either. We mentioned both issues to the front desk before we went to dinner (AJ, she was great!) and she said they would get someone in there to look at both the heat and the TV. We returned later and were told they were fixed. However, neither were fixed or in working order. AJ was awesome and showed us several other rooms to move to. We ultimately moved from a 2 bathroom King, Queen room to a 1 bathroom Full, Full, Twin cot room. Downgrade for sure, but the heat and TV worked. (Side note: one of the alternate room’s TV also didn’t work, and another alternate room had a broken bed that was so slanted, one would fall off if they tried to lay on it.) The next morning my sisters and I ventured down to the Spa for our scheduled massages. The spa called us the day prior to confirm our scheduled massages for the next day. 2 at 10:30, and 1 at 11:30. We arrived at our scheduled appointment time and they told us we had 1 at 10:30, 1 at 11:30, and 1 at 1pm. That was not what we booked and not what we had confirmed just a day prior with the spa staff. The best they could do was keep one of us at 10:30, and then one of us at 11:30. One of my sisters declined to do her massage which would have to have been at 1pm. The spa then tried to charge us a cancellation fee for their scheduling error. We felt that wasn’t fair and they ultimately removed the cancellation fee. While my other sister’s massage and my massage were fine, our massage therapist emitted a very strong cigarette scent, which is not conducive for relaxation and wellness. At dinner that evening in the River Room (on-site restaurant) a couple adjacent to us received poor service or incorrect service and asked for the manager. When the manager arrived they proceeded to verbally abuse the manager and staff in a very disrespectful, loud and disruptive manner to all other guests. While they were entitled to be upset with the service errors, they continued to shout after speaking with the manager. A nearby couple asked them to please keep it down, and they started verbally abusing and swearing at those who politely asked them to keep it down. During that exchange, the male member of the couple called one of the polite couple the “C-word”. To which one of my sisters said, “Sir, there is a child sitting right over there.” It was appalling. They disrupted everyone’s evening. They were not asked to leave, and they remained in the room until they were ready to leave. That sort of behavior should not be tolerated. We’ve only been here 30 hours and all of this occurred. While we knew it was an old inn and not a luxury resort, we were surprised to find the conditions in such disrepair. This 112 year old inn has so much potential, however that needs to start with Ownership and Management. Unfortunately all of the issues we encountered are a result of poor Management. The hospitality staff are not at fault for these issues, it’s an overall operations, maintenance, and management problem. We are not pretentious folks, we never raised at voices at any staff for these issues we encountered, we know this isn’t a 5 star luxury resort and fine dining, and we honestly hope feedback like this is a learning moment. I want to see this place succeed. It’s a very picturesque property. The bones of the inn are historic and a restoration along with necessary and code complaint updates need to be made. My sisters and I unfortunately will not be returning to this inn and nor can we recommend it to anyone. We are eager to leave in the morning.

Great hotel, with real character and charm Yes it’s an old hotel but that for me is an added value and plenty of history to be told. Staff very friendly and helpful , breakfast very nice just limited seating with a great view from inside the cafe. Many activities during the day, picture added. the camp fire with marshmallows is a must to do list what every age you are and taking in the clear night skies looking at stars was stunning Definitely go back , only a couple of improvements in my eyes, pool extremely cold could do slightly warmer. Out of 2/3 breakfasts was given throw away plastic cutlery…. Over all very happy with stay Also the brewery excellent caters for kids, classic non digital games to play ! The beer and food amazing an added bonus

Overall, very disappointed in the quality of our room and the fitness center. Both had no adjustable heat which remained at 78° with no ventilation Holes in the walls and broken furniture in our room. The nightstand had a broken handle, and the drawers of the dresser would not remain closed. In the fitness center, the universal machine weight plates were broken and the exercise bike did not work.

I personally love the Shawnee Inn! If you aren't a "boujie" person, and you like a little rustic charm, you will love the Shawnee Inn too! I have stayed here about 5 times and I have never experienced a dirty room like the images shown. I always have nice rooms! I'll admit, the room price is high for the small room that you get, though. And the walls are definitely thin, but again.. this place is from the early 1900's! It didn't bother me much. I mean.. it's a hotel in the poconos... What do you really expect? I LOVE the scenery outside.. the porch, and the brewery on the property! Give this place a little more credit, negative Nancy's!

This is hotel is one of my happy places in Pennsylvania. The location is great, just by the Delaware river. The view is gorgeous!!!! I always come here during sky season. The hotel is only a few minutes away from the Shawnee mountain ski which makes it very convenient! I love their fire pits during the night and their brewery! I was there just this past Thanksgiving weekend. Very glad to see the bathrooms are being remodeled and the rooms are looking even more beautiful! I can't wait to go back again!

We purchased a two day golf trip with friends. First problem when we called for reservations was we had to upgrade and pay extra. So we said ok. Had t move our tee time back 1/2 hour due to road construction delay, so far so good. Played 18 holes with friends, course is ok except doing renovations on blue 7 & 8. Got back and place was crowded with an event, no big deal. Checked in, had to do one upgrade so ok, we'll pay the extra for a river view. Friends got suite without upgrade. As we were checking in the one girl at the counter kept giving our girl instructions and stopping our check in. Got to our room OMG what a joke. Very tiny room with view over parking lot and you could see the river. TV was like 15 years old, picture had black square around the edges. No coffee maker but all the stuff to make coffee. Had some sort of cable sticking out of the wall not sure what that was, ice machine out of order on 3rd floor. Bathroom toilet was so close to tub you could barely sit on it. Shower curtain rod was all rusted. And this was an upgrade? Friends suite was much larger and nicer but didn't need upgrade. This place reminded me of the movie the Shining. Heard quite a few people say this place was terrible. It rained the next morning so we didn't get to play our second round. Will NEVER stay there again. This place is pretty outside but that's it.
