Just returned from a quick overnight with a couple of great friends. We utilized the golf package and played two relaxing rounds. The course was in impeccable shape and the maintenance crew was very active, but unobtrusive. We had a fantastic time at this lovely property. Enjoyed a beer in the Taproom, cocktails on the veranda and in the Library and excellent dining in the Windsor. We even played a little post dinner pop-a-shot in the arcade! Service was friendly and top-notch. While I have been coming to Skytop for years it was the first time for my friends and now they are excited to return with their wives and families.

My husband and I took a Sunday through Tuesday trip in April. Due to the time of week we went, The Lodge wasn't very crowded. The Lodge has a nice rustic feel two it and has multiple places to eat in The Lodge alone. There is a nice game room on the lower level and we enjoyed many games of ping pong. Every day there are different activities, through they seem a little more limited during days with low traffic. Our favorite part of our stay was definitely the nature walks with Rick. We were able to go on two. The walks were very informative and well worth the time if you are staying. A big draw for us was the indoor pool and hot tub. Unfortunately, the hot tub was was more warm than hot our first night. During our second day it was down for cleaning and was cold the rest of the night which they waited to have it repaired. The next morning it again seemed more warm than hot, so we decided to skip it. Over all, we really enjoyed our stay and plan to go back.

Good experience and outdoor events. Fairly good food, lots of events particularly for kids and family. Would like to see more places on-site for breakfast. Except for coffee shop, nothing opens before noon. Nearest towns are not too far, 10 minutes with some small hood restaurants.

Skytop is a fantastic old school Poconos experience, with all the modern touches and more activities you could hope to do in one stay, without any pretentious affectations. While the lodge may be packed, with good weather you never feel crowded, only cozy. I'll poke at the downsides first: This is not an easily accessible space for anyone with walking problems. If you can handle one staircase then you can manage around, and there are elevators and pool lowering machines, but if you have problems otherwise you may find yourself less than relaxed. A lot of paying extras for activities, which I only got grumpy about because while marshmallow roasting is included every night, the SMORES themselves you have to pay for. I'm not against opting in and paying for each activity and think it works out to an advantage but that's a specific difference that should be better advertised. Some lack of care at upkeep- the paint on the windows and other areas is chipping and not clean, spots on carpets, broken coin machine. Nothing major but it's something to consider over the coming years as repairs always will keep coming. Beware M10- the Mezzanine rooms are great at being close to all the action, but you hear all the noise from the Library cocktail bar. Do not recommend. Let's get on to the awesome bits! Parking, easy to find and a beautiful walk into the entrance helps you immediately transition into vacation mode. Internet connection was almost always at full strength. Check in was easy as can be and the old majesty of the lodge is apparenty right in the main lobby with a huge fireplace and fun decorations of the season. Room- the deluxe room is small but completely outfitted. If you're in your room then you're not enjoying the Poconos! The closet had plenty of hangers, plush robes, extra blanket, the bed was firm but lush. A small desk and comfy chair, and the wardrobe looks well used but the compartments are perfect for a vacation level amount of packing. Water bottles and coffee (Keurig) were fully prepped. Our bathroom had a small but full tub, and a small window. Being able to open all the windows was great for temperature and fresh air. Sometimes the water took awhile to get to hot but the towels were plentiful. They have done a great job of updating the room to look luxurious and practical. One note: The "Do Not Disturb" sign is double sided, one side invites housekeeping in! I think we messed that up since I haven't seen those in ages, so do be careful! Food- There's very little time you don't have options but the rooms have a small fridge so you can store snacks. I liked the variety of options but stick with the Taproom, a delicious bar/pub restaurant. Expect a bit of slow service as they can get busy waves and the whole atmosphere of the place is relaxed, but the impossible bbq burger and the chicken cajun burger are AMAZING!!! We also had the PA appetizer plate and be sure you have at least 4 people to share that with because it is both dense and delicious. If you want fancy, they have the specialty restaurants and the cocktail lounge, but we stuck with casual. The coffee shop had plenty of basics and syrup options and pastries though they can run low midday. The Market is their sandwich and ice cream shop and they were SUPER nice making a sundae into a shake. It lives up to its reputation and was worth the price. In addition to their daily afternoon tea/lemonade/cookie offering, we felt spoiled for choice. You can also get a ton of different gifts if you want in all the shops so don't worry if you want souvenirs. Pool/hot tub- We went after 7pm and both times it was practically empty which was fantastic. I imagine during the day it's swarming with families. But the hot tub is very large, the indoor pool is a perfect mild temperature and made going back and forth very fun and relaxing. We loved the water weights to try out. The locker rooms have a bathroom, two showers, two changing rooms, a very old hair dryer, and plenty of lockable lockers with no keys- maybe you have to get them at the desk? We just put our stuff in the cubbies. Gym- Available all day and night, the gym is small but functional. They were missing cups for the water tank when we toured. We did see someone using it though- so feel free to use your yoga, treadmill, weights to your hearts content. Activities- ENDLESS OPPORTUNITY! Most of their scheduled stuff is for the families with smaller kids like easy crafts and lawn sports, plenty of stuff for the big kids/teens like paintballing and treetops course, active outdoor fun with horses, sports, bikes, or easy trail paths to waterfalls and Poconos vistas. And way more than my small list. All. Day. Long. This is why I liked the activities being opt-in, we didn't have to pay extra fees to cover all the events, just do what we wanted at our own pace. The lobby fills with kids during the tea and cookie hour (worth it, delicious and easy to slip out on the verandah to enjoy the sun) and then empties right after so you can get cozy next to the fire and relax. I'm not sure if it works when the weather is bad or raining, it may get cramped. But we were blessed with great weather. Extras: The water bottle refill next to the concierge was awesome. Walking up to the watch tower was a fun adeventure to be part of the Lodge's personality. Concierge was warm and welcoming for all the questions they must get repeated dozens of times a day and made it easy to ask more. Definitely interested in returning for the different seasons. This is perfect for Poconos adventures without the kitsch and with all the beauty.

The lodge is amazing. Property is beautiful and so much to do. Staff was very friendly, especially Lynn the bartender at The Taproom. Would not recommend the Windsor. Service was slow, drinks were wrong and food was cold!

This is probably the only fine hotel in the region as far as I could tell. The building and grounds are visually striking, and the history of the property is impressive. We dined in the main dining room and had a lovely meal with exceptional hospitality. Our room was small, but comfortable, with antique furniture and a nice, updated bathroom. The provided toiletries were of an excellent quality which is always an added bonus. I can't think of much else to say other than it was a pleasure to stay here!

Everything we needed and so much more. I could use so many adjectives to describe our visit, but I would probably leave some out, so know that a visit here will have you wanting to come back. The tone at check in left no question that we would be taken care of throughout our stay. They were informative and pleasant. I had to stop at the Concierge desk to see the Amazing Amazi, as he had been so helpful during my multiple phone calls prior to our visit! Our Premium King room was lovely. A little aged, and the bath was a little small, but who cares with the view we had! I loved that we could see Camelback ski hill in the distance. We dropped our bags as soon as we got in and headed down to the Pine Room for their daily tea and cookies. Not only do they have tea, but hot chocolate with sweet little chocolate curls, and lemonade with fresh fruit. The cookies were fresh and delish and it was the perfect treat after a 2+ hour drive. Relaxing in the Pine Room with their cozy chairs, gorgeous woodwork and roaring fire was just the beginning. After our snack, we set out on foot to explore and get a lay of the land, inside and out. We were experiencing unseasonably warm temps, and while I was disappointed with the lack of snow, after a while it didn't even matter, as the grounds and scenery were beautiful and inside was still cozy. Make sure to go up on the observation deck. The views are really spectacular! I unknowingly booked our stay on Superbowl Sunday, not aware at the time that the our Philadelphia Eagles would be in the game. We made reservations ahead of time for The Taproom for that night and the food and ambiance did not disappoint! It was a fun night, even though we lost the game. On our 2nd day, we had the expansive breakfast buffet in The Windsor dining room. Endless choices and the best wait staff ever. After breakfast we jumped on the hayride around the property and after, grabbed a hot chocolate from The Roast and headed out onto the South Porch rockers to soak up the sun on another warm day. We visited the Concierge desk after that to schedule our activities for the rest of our stay. Michael was the best and helped us plan our time. There is so much to see and do at this resort. They put out a daily activity sheet like you get on cruises. You can be as relaxed or as busy as you want! We went Snowtubing and then came back to enjoy the pool and hot tub! Dinner again in The Taproom (We had reservations at The Windsor that night, but I was too tired and relaxed to get fancy!). Another great meal. The next day we were checking out. After loading the bags in the car, we headed out on a nature hike with Nature Rick! The shuttle (always available and quick!) took us to the beginning of the Upper Falls trail. What a beautiful walk! I learned so much and we were rewarded at the end with a beautiful waterfall! It was amazing and the perfect end to what was a glorious couple of days. The warmth and hospitality from the staff was genuine and appreciated and left me feeling refreshed and grateful. We met several returning guests, including someone who on her 276th visit. Yes....crazy...but I get it!

Just returned from our third visit, but the first time in the winter. Had a great time! My family enjoyed tubing, ice skating and skiing with friendly helpful staff and everything was so convenient! Food was even better than we remembered and our premium room in the lodge was great. In the past we stayed in the cottages but due to cold weather we decided on the lodge this time and we were pleasantly surprised - the photos online really do not do it justice .it was our first weekend visit so our first experience with the dance elimination and Grand March-what a good time and great tradition!
