Detailed Reviews
This place was very expensive for the quality of the hotel. The hallways smelled like damp and cigarette smoke. The room was not cleaned very well. There was hair on the shower walls. The remote control was very dirty. Bathroom fixtures had stains. Towels had old stains but seemed freshly washed. Bed linen was clean but thin for the cold weather. Staff was nice enough and provided extra towels and blankets as requested. It was very easy to get food delivery dropped off. Don’t use Free WiFi, my phone was hacked during my stay.

Attended a concert at the Sherman Theater and was looking for a room within walking distance. Penn Stroud had no rooms available, so against my better judgment, we booked a room here. The reviews were not too promising.
I really can’t complain about anything. Room and bathroom were clean, heater worked perfectly and was quiet, and bedding was clean and crisp. Front desk was friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again. Ask for room 112.

Have stayed here in past with no issues. But this time we found dead bugs in bathroom, clearly visible. Leeds me to believe rooms not cleaned well, especially bathroom. The a/c did not keep room cool. It was in high 80's, but still we expected a comfortable room. Stuffy to sleep. Bed was comfortable though. Don't mind doing cheap every now a d then, but I never expect or want bugs. Only here 1 night.

+1
Rented 2 rooms for 2 nights. After checking in realized there were no towel racks in either room— racks broken off the walls. Looked like the floor had not been swept let alone washed in either room for quite some time.
Noticed there were no pillows cases in one room. Hours later when ready for bed, noticed there were no sheets and dirty mattress covers. It took the front desk 30 mins to bring new sheets, mattress covers and bedspreads.. Though there are deadbolts, the chain locks on the door either don’t exist, or are broken. The bathroom fan in one room sounds like it’s having electric short issues. One room has two TVs— because the one on the wall doesn’t work.
The mirror in one room has disgusting smudges on it. The luggage racks are broken.
Front desk said we’d have to talk to the manager in the morning about canceling our next night. They are not willing to refund the second night.
Overall a disgusting place. Stay away.

Checked in and within 15 minutes checked out. The room had a horrendous smell and dirty. We requested another room, but there was not available, even though the parking lot was empty. The sheets on the beds were grey/ dingy and the microwave was filthy dirty. Plus it was probably 50 degrees in the room when we arrived. The lady at the front desk was very nice and refunded our money.

WARNING: This place is disgusting, filthy, bug infested, and a dangerous health hazard. And the Indians who own the place could care less. Compared to Bangladesh, this place may be acceptable, but not in this Country. I don't understand how the Department of Health or some other agency has not shut this place down. DO NOT STAY HERE. You have been warned.

I was not expecting much here, just a place to overnight before heading back to NY. It's a vintage 1960's motel, which has a certain charm. It is family run and they have obviously made some significant upgrades to the rooms and are doing a lot of other renovations. My room was splendid with new furniture etc. Very comfortable and most convenient. A short walk over the bridge and you're in delightful downtown Stroudsburg. Sadly I was only here for one night, but if you're planning on exploring Stroudsburg this is a perfect place to stay. Great locatoin and great price for a very nice room!

Stayed 1 night on the way back to NYC. The room was I stayed in was filthy and felt gross just to sleep in the bed. After getting back home I started itching like crazy. I noticed that I was completely covered in bites that turned out to be bed bugs. After calling the hotel, the manager Peter, who refused to give his last name denied everything. He said there has never been any problems in the hotel and refused to try and remedy the situation. There are other options in the area that should be checked out before staying at this motel.

We stayed here one night during a week long vacation in the Tri-State area and had just an "okay" stay in this hotel. The hotel was in a great location...walking distance to Stroudsburg's Main Street, but was not the most decent of rooms we have stayed in. The room was found clean, yet there was definitely an old musty odor in the room which made it kind of difficult to relax in. The furntire in the room looked quite old and I didn't really think it was too safe for my 1 year old toddler to be around (wobbling wood tables & chairs). The bathroom matched the condition of the furniture, the tub looked very old and used, and I did not bother to bathe my 2 children in the tub. The overall condition and decor of the room was somewhat dismal and I it certainly made us feel that way while we were in it. Although it was not a horrible stay, we would not stay there again.

I lived in Stroudsburg, PA once upon a time and was in town visiting friends (8/5/17). I lost track of time and realized that it was 2:00AM and I was too weary for the drive home (I live 50+ miles away) so I sought out a room for the evening. As you may imagine, it is not easy to find a last minute weekend vacancy in the heart of The Poconos. The only room I was able to locate was a 2-bed smoking room at the local Econo Lodge, so I took it. I knew going in that it wasn't going to be a pleasant experience because it was a smoking room, but I accepted this and have no complaints about the smoke smell as that is was I signed up for.
The room was outdated at the mattresses were thin enough to feel the springs in them. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest, but the toilet was clean, soap was readily available, and so were clean towels. I noted a hair dryer on the wall, but didn't check to see if it was functioning. There was also shampoo and conditioner on the sink. I didn't inspect the shower as I was too disgusted at the reason I had need to use it (see: title of review and paragraph below). There was a fridge and microwave available, but I also didn't use those so their functionality wasn't inspected. The lights worked and there was a dresser and night stand available for use.
As I settled into one of the uncomfortable beds, I could feel something on my leg. When I reached down, I was appalled to retrieve a used condom. It was either there for awhile or washed with the sheets as it wasn't wet, but that doesn't make it less disgusting. I threw it across the room and headed straight for the shower, wondering if falling asleep at the wheel was a better option as I vigorously scrubbed.
I will also question the decision that came next. I knew that I was too tired to take the drive, so I inspected the sheets on the other bed and everything seemed fine. I climbed in and hesitantly fell asleep. When I rose, I took another shower where I, once again, vigorously scrubbed. Dressed and checked out as quickly as I could. I was so disgusted that I said nothing (also embarrassed that I made the decision to stay anyway).
I will never stay there again and regret not thinking to ask a friend to crash on one of their couches. I'm just going to keep reminding myself that I didn't endanger anyone else on the road and made it home safely to my kids, but never again. NEVER. AGAIN.
