My husband and I spent one evening at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn. Staff were great. The salad bar in the restaurant was the best we've ever been to! Service was attentive and the food delicious. We were upgraded from a room in the main building to a queen cottage. As nice as the cottage was, I would have preferred the room with that king bed!

On a recent quick getaway from Manhattan the day before NYE, my boyfriend and I spent a night at Stroudsmoor Country Inn. The property/grounds is hugs with many buildings, and the look and feel of the main Inn itself was very charming, and homey in style, specifically the lobby, and living room/lounge. Our room (in the main building) was small, which we expected, and were fine with, however was inconsistent with the rest of the inn. It looked and felt run down, and had a bit of that old/musty smell and feel. The bathroom was teeny tiny, especially the 2ft x 2ft shower with a curtain that stuck to your back while taking a shower...not comfortable. Breakfast which was included with the room rate was nice (a menu you can order from), and the service/staff were courteous and friendly. I'd definitely visit again to have a meal, spend some of the day, but not likely to stay again.

We came for the Sunday Buffet at the Inn. Parking can be a problem if weather is snowy or icy. The walking distance from your vehicle to the Inn can be a challenging for some. The rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. Tables are a bit close together with just enough to move between which makes it is a bit challenging going to and from the buffet. Food selection for includes the typical fruit, salads, hot and cold meat, fish and bakery goods. Vegans found enough to pick from. The food was put out in small enough portions and replenished often enough. Some items such as waffles and eggs were available cooked to order. All in all a pleasant and tasty experience for a cold winter day.

I stayed here with my partner on a Tuesday night. That was our first mistake, all bars/restaurants on the grounds are closed on Monday and Tuesday, no room service either - this is not at all obvious when booking. The room itself was ok, but we quickly noticed stains on the bedsheets. Called reception to explain and ask for clean sheets, the lady didn't apologize or seem bothered, just said she would send someone up. 30 minutes later still no clean sheets so I went to ask in person. Same lady just said "oh I'll call them again", she seemed annoyed that I was even asking for clean sheets. After that someone dropped up clean sheets but they weren't the right size for our bed.
The free continental breakfast is a plate of muffins on a table in the dining room and a drip coffee dispenser.
Don't expect much hospitality if you do choose to stay here. Not worth the money in my opinion.

The room was and look very old. The bed was not very comfortable, the carpet look dirty and smell bad. The bathtub was a bit small and old. The doors, locks need to be changed, they are roasted. Even though I was behind by the tree the windows did not close completely and the sun woke me up very early. The so called breakfast was just very bad coffee with one cold muffin. No juice, no tea no fruits, I mean the breakfast was only a little snack which was not even available at only 8:30am, which when I showed up at the lobby and you needed to ask for it.
The hotel and surrounding does have potential to be fantastic but really, really must be update it. There is no room service you need to make your own bed, they leave you a bag in the front with new towels and bathroom toiletry.

I recently was planning two events. I went and spoke to Kristy the restaurant manager. She was excellent in listening to our needs and showing us around along with giving us different choice options for what worked for us and our guests. I told her I will get back to her. About 2 weeks after me speaking with Kristy I called to find out her schedule so I can stop in and leave a deposit. I was told she was on vacation and was given Toby the assistant manager. I let her know I had spoken to Kristy and wanted to come in to leave a deposit for two different events. I also mentioned to Toby that I wanted to order a cheese platter for my guest by the bar since we were going to be a little early. I told her the conversation I had with Kristy as far as instead of the dessert the restaurant offered to pay the difference for a cake (for my kids special occasions) and Toby said I have to have the dessert they offered and they don’t do anything else. Toby who was not very pleasant told me anyone can help me with that and mentioned I can leave a deposit over the phone. I told her I would rather come in and speak with someone in person so I can get a receipt. She kept insisting they can help me over the phone. I finally hung up and my husband and I drove down there to leave a deposit. When I showed up a nice man asked to help us I let him know that I called and explained what I wanted to do, he said he was going to ask Toby since he was new. I told him that’s not a problem to take his time. Toby who is an assistant manager still did not come over to help this nice man and he went to get another girl who again mentioned she needs Toby to help. She went and spoke to Toby, the poor girl came back still with no help from Toby wrote my information down and took my credit card info. Once I left the deposit I left and searched for somewhere else to have my kids events. I booked somewhere else about 2 hrs after leaving my deposit at this place. I waited a few days for Kristy to come back from vacation to call and speak to her asking for my deposit back and telling her how much I appreciated her help when I first stopped in. I then mentioned I just didn’t appreciate the way I was treated by Toby as well as how Toby treated the staff by not helping. It was like she didn’t care or listen to what others had to say.

We came for a wedding of a family member. Where the wedding took place was truly beautiful...the outdoors was picturesque and indoors was well decorated. The service was a bit off (drinks not served, food looked and tasted frozen/cooked out of a microwave, no announcements about things happening). The room we stayed was supposed to be a suite but consisted of the smallest queen bed and a pull out couch...others in our party paid less and got more (separate bedrooms, larger beds, etc.). I would not recommend anyone to stay.

We stayed two nights in room 4 at the Inn on a Sunday and Monday night in July. Our room was comfortable and pretty but very small, would not suit a longer stay. There
is no elevator and no help, so be prepared to carry luggage up a steep staircase. The setting is lovely with many pavilions which must be available weddings and events, you're welcome to walk around the property but most were closed or occupied with weddings during our stay. There's an indoor pool and hot tub which were open, and a cozy pub -like lounge with the option to sit outdoors. Service at the restaurant and lounge were terrific, friendly and attentive servers, and the restaurant food was delicious! Now for the small quibbles - the restaurant and bar are closed on Monday, we were not told this at check in, and had to figure out alternatives at the last minute. At check in we were given a map of the property, but apparently should also have been given a list of area restaurants and attractions, which we were not until we asked. All in all it felt like the Inn was short staffed with the reception unattended most of the time, which is understandable with the pandemic but not if this is just a typical Monday night stay. Finally, room 4 would not be my first choice as the cooking smells from the ventilation outside the room on the first night were very strong, even with the window closed and A/C on full blast.

We were very happy that we chose this small resort for our 14th annual sisters' getaway (we go somewhere different every year). Our room, Cottage #55 was huge, had a deck overlooking the woods, on which we enjoyed dinner & drinks, beds were comfortable, the mini-fridge was more than adequate in size, A/C worked well (even the dehumidifier was great for "white noise"), we were absolutely thrilled with the indoor pool, the large grounds, including the 1 mile woodsy loop past the Woodsgate cottage (scenic overlook at the .5 mile turnaround point), the local deer that make this area their home, the super friendly front desk staff & the whole old world, country-style charm (which some would say is worn out, but we felt was cozy & authentic). Our only gripe was what others have mentioned; midweek breakfast offers fairly bitter coffee, hot water for tea, hard scones, apples (one orange) but filling & fairly good muffins. Juice, maybe more of a selection of teas, & maybe bananas or more oranges could be offered although I understand that the resort does not fill up midweek, so the breakfast echoes the need. If the opportunity arises, I will surely stay here again (close to hiking, kayaking, tubing & centrally located to all points east, west, etc. It bills itself as a wedding venue & looks perfect for that special event)

AVOID, AVOID. I purchased a 6 month pool and gym membership pass at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn December, 2021. On my 3rd visit to the pool, I observed a member loudly clearing phlegm and spitting his phlegm into the swimming pool each time he completed swimming a lap. Disgusting. I relayed this event to the Stroudsmoor Country Inn front desk. Next time I went, the man was swimming again. I got out of the pool and went to the front desk and again told the same lady at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn front desk the member was spitting in the pool, again. She said she’d again tell the manager and hopefully management would speak to the guest. The next time I went swimming the same man was there and he was still spitting in the pool. Next, I spoke to a young man who was working the frontdesk and he said he understood my viewpoint as he was a former lifeguard, as myself. He said it's difficult to maintain the pool area because there is no lifeguard. And, he said he'd relay my message to the manager. The only contact I received from management was that he was keeping my $100 I paid for pool membership. Next, 2 pool-gym pass members told me their dermotologist told them they each have contracted "Ring Worm" infection from the Stroudsmoor Country Inn pool and hot tub. Based on these health concerns, I made the decision to never return to Stroudmoor. I asked for my remaining 5 months membership to be refunded. Over a two month period requesting a resolution to this situation, the Manager failed to contacted me. Stroudmoor kept my $100….And they can keep their Ringworm and Phlegm-filled pool to themselves, too.

Some of the units have a loft area which can be used as a separate bedroom. I have been going there for years and I am not sure about adjoining bedrooms. I would suggest you call and ask, since they are very helpful.
