Hi, is this Inn walking distance to anything? Or do we have to drive to downtown area or sights? It's our first trip to Charleston. Thank you!

From the B&B you can easily get down to the lower end of the peninsula by foot. We usually make it a point however to park in the garage at the Visitor Ctr. on Meeting Street, check the Visitor Ctr. for any deals that are running for tours, and then use that as our hub in walking the historic district. We made the mistake once of visiting Charleston in July.... Hot, humid and no breeze. Best to visit Fall through early Spring.
Be advised that during the high season, you need reservations well in advance if you want to eat at any of the more popular dining establishments.
By the way, just around the corner from the Ashley Inn is a hidden gem of a restaurant; "Hominy Grill."
