I booked a room well in advance, paid for it and had it conformed. After a 17 drive to get there, I was told that the hotel was overbooked and our room was sold. I protested vehemently but in the end was moved 1.5 miles away. I would never recommend the Renaissance and now have a sour taste for all...

Absolutely loved my stay here. Very nice staff and super convenient to many restaurants and shops. Rooms are excellent and updated. Definitely will stay here again next time I'm in town. Only negative was the parking was across the street and the process was not too convenient. Maybe better to valet.

Just did a spur of the moment overnight in Charleston and the Renaissance served us well. We were able to get connected rooms that gave us the space our family needed. The location of this hotel is excellent. The shopping on King Street is right around the corner and the rest of the Historic District is an easy walk. We...

The hotel is located in a great location in Charleston and very close to everything. The rooms are specious and modern. However the restaurants were not working and we were notified just a day before we arrived (rather than when we checked in). They tried to make it up with free continental breakfast but every day they offered less and...

We easily self parked across the street, although valet is available. Check in was quick and pleasant. We loved the decor and the ambience throughout, including the rabbit wallpaper some reviewers complained about. The room was comfortable. Everything we wanted to do and see was walkable (although we did once take a bike taxi).

Great hotel and great service. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. I love the location as you can walk to everything in the city and the valet parking is a must here. I have had to make last minute changes to travel plans a few times and they have been very accommodating in helping with each request.

Arrived late in the day after driving from Cape Canaveral Florida. The bellman and young man at the front desk were very accommodating and pleasant from the get go. Recommended a lovely restaurant right across the street and got our luggage to our room immediately. The updating the Marriot has done is great! Had a full breakfast buffet the following...

This hotel has a fancy feel to it but I was woken at 4:00 in the morning by a truck in the street below my window that seemed to be doing some pressure washing around the building across the street. It was a horrible noise that went on for at least 1/2 hour! My room was on the 2nd floor...

The complimentary wine and beer in the newly remodeled lobby was a wonderful place to relax after a day of touring Charleston. The rooms were also tastefully remodeled. We especially enjoyed having French doors that opened up to a balcony. We were also able to walk to just about everything. The staff was also excellent-five star service.

My wife was in town for a conference so I tagged along and was not disappointed! The proximity to all the best downtown restaurants, walking history tours abound, could not have asked for a better location that is not on a busy street! Great staff from the bellman to cleaning service personnel. Drawbacks, no on site restaurant (not a huge...
