Hotel was quiet and bed was comfortable but the room, especially the bathroom, was very dirty. Hotel renovation was poorly done with bathroom tile shifting. The cheap fake hardwood in room had a wave to it and you can feel the divots in the floor.
Cheesh! Entered on Wed May 25 at about 7pm, and was 'greeted' with a total sourpuss. I stay in HI Express at least 6 or so times pre year, and generally find the staff friendly and pleasant. Not tonight....wow. Asked if there was a room available, was quoted a price....deadpan....no 'would you like", no eye contact....very odd. I wondered if I had done something to provoke the young woman behind the desk, and my travelling companion assured me I hadn't. It was a pretty sour way to start the night. I guess I interrupted her meal - I don't know (she had a cup of noodles in front of her. Is this place short staffed? Can't she find a staffer for a break? Whats up here? I've worked in customer service for many years - that was a sad show for what is otherwise a clean, quiet, comfortable motor hotel.…
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Columbia - Two Notch, an IHG hotel to attend a practice round at the Masters. The rooms were clean and roomy. We could not and requested not to have the room cleaned after the 1st night. Although there were two of us in the room staying for two nights, there were only two bath towels in the bathroom. When we called for additional bath towels to be brought to the room, the desk clerk said she was the only one there and we'd have to come down to get them. There were ice machines on all three floors, but only the ice machine on the 2nd floor had ice. The "up button" for the elevator going from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor did not work. The breakfast buffet had a rail up so that you had to get your food as you are standing in line -- didn't make sense and added extra time for breakfast. I've been at many hotels where you went directly to the buffet to get the food you wanted without any problem -- no line to stand in and much more efficient.…
The room is lovely and modern, clean and comfortable. Mary at the front desk is a lovely lady and 2 of us spent time chatting and enjoying her company when she came off shift. The breakfast was a typical "free" breakfast. scrambled eggs, sausage patties and cold foods. Nothing to write home about but it was hot and filling.
Nice looking hotel. Things for improvement clean the elevator one stinks stuff all over the floor. Too cheap to put an ice machine on every floor. Really, when it's late and you are beat having run to another floor is cheap on the management's part. TV is bolted flat to the wall. Almost every HI has is on an angled mount so you can turn it. Bath show door leaks water on the floor. The ceiling has cracks and is peeling. No trash pails outside. Good things Wi-Fi is really good about 35 Mbps up and down. Had to do some major work files and this was really great. AC was nice and cool.
We stayed two nights for a girls' get together during a very busy weekend: the U of SC homecoming football game. We did not have a reservation and one of my friends is extremely sensitive to smells. Ms. Mary, at the front desk, was very patient and accommodating. Ms. DeeDee was very helpful and kind during our stay. Ms. Rosa was very attentive during breakfast time. The room was clean and smelled nice. We were very pleased. Thank you.
With my travel for over 200 nights a year, the experience that i got at this hotel was the worst. After a long night of travel, stopped in to get a room and the front desk was so rude and low brow that you could not believe that it was a IHG hotel. The ladies were bad this morning and would not even allow a 30 year elite member to log into my own computer to book my reservation and so nasty that i continued the drive another 100 miles to get back to the 21st century. It was like a 1950 movie. Bad service.
We checked in and the toilet Tim was disgusting. I let it go since I know it’s Covid and housekeeping is sparse. I wiped the toilet seat with some wipes that I had. Then there was a long hair in the shower. I can forgive that. What I can’t forgive is roaches. My husband saw one roach and I saw 2. We checked out and will never be back. Do not stay at this roach hotel.
Great night stay. The room (125) smelled great. I don’t usually like 1st floors but it was no problem. Very comfortable beds (2 queens). Nice shower (clean & it drained well). The AC was descent as well. Mini fridge that actually worked (my bottled water actually froze). Very friendly staff. Clean, clean & did I say clean!
Hotel is a little worn but served our basic needs for an overnight. Breakfast included was served instead of buffet and was a good breakfast. The room was fine. Definitely not the standard of Other HIs I have seen but the location made up for it. U can walk via parking lot to Texas Roadhouse next door or there r several other restaurant choices in the area. There is a Delta by Marriott across the street we would probably look at next time. But the area is a good stop over.
