Stayed here one night for a reunion. Room was spacious. Good security and very easy check in and check out. Price was good for a reunion weekend, but high for area. Room was clean, bed comfortable. It’s on the nicer end of a b&b. Room was far quieter than I expected. Renovations were nicely done. But the little things: only one trashcan in the room; there was NO counter space anywhere - I had to put my makeup in the sink in order to put it on. Lighting was awful.
Historic home in great condition. Clean and organized with drinks and snacks available. Rooms include a bed, TV, night stand, bathroom and closet. Felt historic with a hint on modern. Everything is done through codes. No staff on location but Pam was quick to respond and explain check in step by step. Areas to relax and talk, read or scroll your phone. Quiet and clean. Parking is extremely convenient and safe. It is a long walk to almost everything. Need to drive but that was not a problem. Breakfast voucher to Main Course downtown for breakfast buffet. So good. This is worth the stay in Columbia. Rooms for around $200 with fees and taxes. Worth it!
We celebrated our 41st Anniversary at The 1425 Inn near downtown Columbia recently and really enjoyed our trip! It is very private and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the close proximity to downtown as we were able to walk to restaurants and points of interest near us. We enjoyed access to the coffee/tea bar with snacks everyday and sipping wine on the front porch while we watched people walking by!
The Inn appeared nice upon arrival. We did notice numerous box fans operating around the common area upstairs and in our room. While the Inn was cool, our room was very hot and quite uncomfortable. We had requested this upstairs room because it had a balcony. However, there was no furniture on the balcony so we could not sit out. There was no staff on site so I text the manager about some of these concerns. She was not aware of any AC issues and recommended we turn on a fan. As for the missing furniture, she said it had been removed to be painted. Also all the artwork had been removed so there were just hook on the walls. She said the artwork rotates through on consignment and they were between artists. Not really any apologies, just several excuses. The bathroom had chipped paint on walls/vanity and the AC vent was partially falling from the ceiling. She ended with “if you want to go somewhere else, I understand”. We did stay the night. The next morning we went downstairs to find breakfast. It consisted of packaged muffins, granola bars and a bowl of whole fruits. Still no on-site staff. It appeared to be operating more like an Air BnB but that is not how it was advertised. Needless to say, we were very disappointed.…
This inn in wonderful. There are complimentary snacks, tea, coffee, water. Amazing tagged art on the walls and the iconic scenery of Southern Carolina is well preserved here. Service is wonderful and they give you exactly what you require. Located in a FABULOUS spot. Fabulous. Highly recommend leaving with a piece of art :)
My wife and I arrived there at in the evening after driving 9/12 hours. I was very sick from a reaction to the vaccine. Shanna and Molly made us a home made matzo ball soup and offered us a free nite if things didn't improve. We were able to leave and drove another 10 hours. Next morning Shanna called twice to check up on us. We have stayed at the Inn quite a few times and it is always first class, letter A perfect. This was true southern hospitality and it was greatly appreciated and will always be remembered. Beautiful Inn, clean as a whistle, fantastic artwork and furniture.
Can't say enough about this beautiful Inn for our 28th wedding anniversary stay! Innkeeper, Shanna, was there to welcome us upon arrival and gave us our pick of rooms since we were her only guests that evening (she was preparing for a wedding party the next day). We chose to stay in the Magnolia which was her original selection for us. It was a very large room and had a great walk in shower. Coffee, tea, water, and individually wrapped snacks were available. We were all set to go to a restaurant we saw on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, but after Shanna talked with us and got to know us a bit, she recommended the War Mouth as a local place that she thought would be more to our tastes. She was not wrong! It had a lovely outdoor seating area with string lights, very casual, local cliental only (so crowd was low and social distancing was easily attained). Drinks and dinner were phenomenal and a great price! Breakfast the next morning at the Inn was equally terrific and plentiful! Shanna asked if she could sit with us while we ate and we welcomed her company and enjoyed sharing stories about our travels. If you like local talent, the Inn is decorated with lots of original art work and it is for sale. She said they switch the art work out every so often to keep it fresh and new for returning guests. We would definitely visit again and book with Shanna! …
Four long time friends gathered at the 1425 Inn to celebrate our 75th birthdays. Shanna was an awesome hostess, the rooms, the common area were all we could have asked for. Snacks and breakfast were available and enjoyed! We also enjoyed the history of the area and walking nearby.
When the COVID pandemic forced my wife and I to change our wedding plans, Shanna and everyone at The 1425 Inn were there to help. Our families stayed in beautiful rooms (with the MOST comfortable beds) and raved about the charm of the common spaces. Shanna was there to ensure we had whatever we needed, including some excellent homemade breakfasts. We had a great place to dance and celebrate. We could not have asked for better service or a more beautiful weekend from start to finish. I truly want to thank Shanna and everyone at The 1425 Inn for helping make our wedding perhaps even more beautiful and memorable than we dreamed it before all the changes. To anyone staying in Columbia, I would put The 1425 Inn at the top of your list.
We used The 1425 Inn for my wedding shower three years ago, Shanna was able to assist with food, provided beautiful plates, vases, trays, utensils, etc. there was plenty of room for about 30 people. We were able to park right out back and it was easy for guests to find, what a cute Inn to rent out for the afternoon. We had such a wonderful time that three years later we planned to have my baby shower there. We booked a weekend in May, then Covid19 over took the world, Shanna was able to reschedule us to mid June, when the date slowly approached and we realized it still wouldn’t be safe for family members to travel for the shower, Shanna contacted us to let us know she would be giving us a full refund. We didn’t expect this at all and can’t wait to use her again in the future. Highly recommend for the cute space, great location, amazing customer service!…
