On Sunday June 26th I arrive for the first time in my life to South Carolina and I was greeted at the front desk with the best customer service. It did not stop there my entire 10 weeks in this "HOME" I was treated with outstanding care. They became my extended family. Making sure when I arrived, I knew about the local area, including food, shopping, free activities as well. I looked forward to the cleaning of my room; each time it was done with TLC. The fresh smell of a clean space was helpful after arriving back. They were able to make accommodations when I left my don’t not disturb sign on my accident on my cleaning days. When I went on vacation I was Coming down daily was a plus as I was always asked how my night was and the daily commute and or activities. Spending time at the pool, doing meditations on the lawn chairs was a highlight of my stay as well. My grandson enjoyed his ability to have a basketball court access daily, which he would spend time playing until it closed. They even got new balls in the middle of the summer. It was helpful to see the weather for week and learning how the Midlands temperature could change at the drop of the dime. Breakfast was family fun with the staff. Different combinations of foods daily was something to look forward to as well as engaging with the staff. It was well kept cleaned area. The outside maintenance of the place was great as well. Arriving daily to the location, I was often offered assistance with bringing items inside as well making inquiring if I had needs in between room cleaning. I was frequently reminded of the other cooking items located behind the desk and the grill outside. They would often remind us of the available board games onsite as well. It was emotional to say goodbye on September 10th. It was as if the family I grew to love I was leaving them behind. The care of my room, breakfast, the care of the lobby and outside recreational, laundry room, exercise room, and pool were always maintained. Each and every person from front desk staff / breakfast staff, housekeeping, maintenance, and the three Managers ensured that me and my grandson’s relocation to the South was the best experience. I searched all around Columbia to find the perfect venue to host my daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday Celebration, and found a jewel at TownePlace Suites (Marriott)! It is a beautiful location that has the perfect setup. I was able to rent the conference room to decorate and host our guests. The space is lovely! We didn't have to add much to the room to decorate, because it is such a nice place. It even has it's own entrance so we didn't have to worry about our guests disturbing the lobby area coming in and out. The grill and pool area have the perfect ambiance with a firepit perfectly placed in the center of it all. We utilized that space as well. The staff was super accommodating and friendly. They made sure all of our hotel rooms were close together. The rooms were great! We were even able to move the leftover party food and treats to the room that my daughter and her best friends were staying in to recreate a similar setup so they could continue to enjoy themselves after all the guests were gone. The suites are spacious and the table in the room had just enough space to create a late night treat table for them. We even enjoyed breakfast the next morning. I would not change a thing about this location. I would absolutely recommend TownePlace Suites Columbia Southeast/Fort Jackson and will be back to use this location again for our next special event!! - Dwiyana…
Great staff. They were all so kind and accommodating. Joseph thank you for helping me out with the laundry issue! TripAdvisor sucks because they’re making me write a 200 word essay before they’re allowed to post this!
I have stayed at this property several times over the last few months and wanted to thank them for the excellent service and hospitality. All of the staff is friendly, and very helpful. The property is always clean, and great condition. I would like to especially like to thank Franklin, the front desk manager. It seemed every time I needed assistance he was there to help. He is very professional, and dedicated to assisting in anyway he can. Recommend you guys give him a raise and hold on to him. Thanks Franklin and staff.. see you next time. Billy
A Marriott lover for life, this TownePlace Suites did nothing to impress. Regarding the people, check in was OK, but I literally had to tell the person at the desk I was a Marriott member. They did do a nice job on the chat before we got there and had extra pillows in the room. Room was clean. But the breakfast was a disaster. They were out of everything. And when I say everything, I mean everything. No eggs, cereals, jelly, peanut butter, etc. etc. etc. Was very embarrassing.
Stay at Marriott’s all the time and this one was below standards. Outside of building looks great and enjoyed the fire pit but the inside is VERY dated and small rooms!! I used a suite award to get an upgrade to a two bedroom and it was sooooo small. Only 1 small bath. Breakfast was a C- Staff was friendly for what they had to work with.
I have been staying with Towne Place Suites for 1.5 months so far. I will be here at least another month or two. Every single employee from Joseph the GM to Erika the morning breakfast service attendant is AWESOME!!! This includes Franklin, Brittany, Kim, Shakim and the unnamed countless others who worked tirelessly to make sure my stay is pleasurable, comfortable and CLEAN. Every single time I needed help either with a malfunctioning shower to a billing issue, these folks were on it! I will recommend Towne Place to anyone coming to South Carolina looking for a great hotel at very reasonable prices. The rooms are spacious and full of amenities. Great job all!!
We spend a lot of time on the road and this hotel stands out as one of the best. Erica and all the staff do a wonderful job. She and the other lady whose name I did not get both go above and beyond serving breakfast! Give them a raise! Would stay here again whenever I’m in the area and highly recommend!
We stayed in the TownPlace suites for a night while in Columbia. The hotel was comfortable and our room was quite. The beds were awesome, we had a two bedroom unit. The carpet was loose in spots. The coffee maker was terrible. The shower curtain rod was falling off the wall. The breakfast was ok. But the staff was wonderful.
Review: My wife and I traveled to Columbia for U of SC Parent's Weekend and a football game. The hotel is located about 10 min. from campus and downtown and is also convenient to Ft. Jackson. The hotel is also near restaurants and shopping. Parking is plentiful, and the lot is well lit and has space for larger vehicles and work trucks. Walking in, we were greeted with a big smile and warm welcome. The lobby and breakfast area were very clean. The outdoor spaces are also very nice with a good size pool, tables and chairs, grills and a basketball court. The room was typical for a Townplace, again being clean with plenty of space to hang and store clothes. The only odd thing was that there was no mirror outside of the bathroom, making getting ready at the same time a bit inconvenient. For a solo traveler, or a contractor on a longer stay, this place would be ideal.…
