Stayed here last minute for the USC- Texas A&M game. Friendly staff, great breakfast. Nice clean room. Great location, can walk to downtown and the Vista area. Wish they had a shuttle to William Brice Stadium!
I made a reservation here so we had a place to stay near the Columbia Amtrak station after a scheduled 4 a.m. arrival. Well , the train was more than two hours late, so we got to the hotel about 7 a.m. The staff welcomed us, extended our check-out time until 1:30 (usually 11 am), had a very good hot breakfast ready and even agreed to keep our bags the rest of the day without complaint. The hotel is new and beautifully appointed. The staff was warm, friendly and professional. If we are ever back this way, we will definitely be staying here.
We had a comfortable stay from check in to check out. Lobby and reception nicely updated, hallways and room very clean, staff very friendly. The morning after our stay, I was waiting for the elevator and a staff member walking by paused to asked if I needed anything. It took 5 seconds of his time but things like that are meaningful to guests.
Clean new, friendly but inexperienced? The Keurig dribbled water as it worked. Two conditioners no shampoo in shower. First morning no milk at breakfast. Cereal and oatmeal but no milk. Same thing the next morning. There is a Publix just down the road.
I normally use holiday in express for business trips and I’ve had good experiences in the past in other cities.. This time not so good. Front desk staff not helpful or respectful. Wi-Fi not reliable. Breakfast starts at 6:30 which is not good for business travelers. Frequently late and one morning they ran out of food. Reported previous room damage to front desk but nothing was ever done. No cleaning and no new towels. Parking is limited. Hallways not clean. IHG management needs to revamp this branch. I will not stay here again.
Not sure how old the hotel is, but very nicely kept up. Room was clean, bed and pillows were great. The breakfast was good and changed up every day. The young couple who keeps the area has it well stocked and cleaned. They are super friendly and a credit to the Holiday Inn. The front desk staff was nice and friendly. Close enough to downtown. There are restaurants within end walking distance. This is just me but they have nice big Samsung TV but you can't access the HDMI to plug in your computer. Its the bule clean remotes they use that are not programmed to allow control. Although the wi-fi was good and works all the time on my computer it dropped off my iPhone all the time. I had to open the browser and go to the IHG website to make it work each time. I highly recommend this hotel, with one exception, the $13 a day parking fee. They have limited space, but the garage they hooked up is just across the street if their lot is full. The way I would work this is to give your customers the garage pass and if used then bill the $13, but if we find a space in the lot then there would be no fee. It's not like they are in the middle of downtown. They just didn't or couldn't get enough space for parking when the hotel was built. It's next to the Police station so it should one of the safest places around.…
Due to my husband’s job we stay in a lots of hotels. This one is the cleanest one I have ever stayed in. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. Very accommodating. Great location. Easy walk to nice restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay with them again the next time we are in Columbia SC.
The hotel was really nice and the room was clean as well as the bathroom. However, the parking garage isn't directly across from the hotel. It's a couple of blocks up from the hotel. Thankfully, I was able to get a close up parking spot because I was with someone who was disabled, but if you aren't a walker or have bad knees and back and don't have a handicap parking pass, I would advise not booking at this hotel. That is the only downfall.
My Husband and I stayed at this Holiday Inn during the 4th of july weekend, we were very pleased with the hotel cleanliness, the hotel just opened a few months ago, and you can tell! The complimentary breakfast was also very lovely! During our stay we were checked in by a gentleman named Zack, he was there during our entire stay and was so sweet to talk to, he took the time to tell us about some really good restaurants and lots of helpful tips about Columbia! He made our stay!!
This hotel is very new. In the halls it smelled like the carpet had just been put down, which I loved. Our room was very clean. There were a few smudges in the shower and on the bathroom floor that looked like they were from construction but it didn’t bother me. The parking lot, pool, lobby, fitness center, and our room all looked very clean. All employees were very friendly. I would just recommend a more professional appearance by employees.
