Checked in late with the family after 7 hr drive the room stunk so bad of old mold a cigarettes and was so dirty waffle house understaffed 35 mins for chicken to cook at KFC then making the kids go to the bathroom cuz the neighbor beating his wife all night cops didn't do anything there was only a little wooden door that locked joining the 2 rooms and cop sirens all night never again if you can make it farther I suggest doing so. Left shortly after booking with no refund lesson learned the hard way keep you family away definitely a drug house as well
Needed a Choice brand hotel near Fort Jackson National Cemetery for my brothers interment service. Check in was quick and easy and was allowed to check in a little early. My room was clean and pretty good shape. This isn’t a 4 star hotel but for what I paid it is perfectly fine. I would stay here again if ever in the area again.
I booked two nights here for its proximity to the VA hospital in Columbia as well as the moderate price. I was very skeptical after reading a good many previous reviews. Though the hotel is a little dated. I had none of the problems stated in previous reviews. I saw no bugs- no prostitution- no panhandling... etc... the staff was friendly and the breakfast was surprisingly pretty good. I even left my phone cord and when I called they had found it and will be mailing it to me. Like I said, the hotel is a little dated. I think that some people’s expectations for the price they paid was set too high. Not as bad as some state, but as with anything there is always room for improvement.
I arrived in this area and located this hotel last minute as all the other hotels in the area were booked due to a military graduation. Upon check in, the gentleman was polite and helpful. Check in went smooth, however, I had to return to the counter 2 times due to the electronic key not working on door. Eventually, the issue was resolved and I entered the room. The room appeared somewhat updated but then I noticed the room was not completely clean. The garbage in bathroom was full, there were urine stains/spots on the toilet bowl, the shower was stained, and the bathroom sink had toothpaste stains all over counter and faucet. Additionally, the air conditioner leaked below the unit in the room and could cause some possible mold issues. I then immediately went to the front desk who then called a person to go to the room and clean it up. I then went back up stairs to the room and the cleaner cleaned the room. He was apologetic however, no excuse for this. I also made sure the bed was clean before he left which it was. If it wasn't for the non-availability of hotels in the area, I would have walked out, but needed a place to sleep. The front desk reduced the price as for this inconvenience but this was not what I expected. I left immediately in the morning and did not utilize the free breakfast. Parking was okay and this hotel is located near many restaurants. The only reason I knew the AC was leaking was because I walked over to it to lower the temperature and stepped into moisture beneath it, not a good thing. Needs updates on the outside also!…
My family and I went up to South Carolina to see my fiancé graduate from boot camp. We stayed a few nights at the hotel and I was very pleased with my stay. Great customer service! The guy at the first desk was so much help! We ran out of milk for my one year old in the middle of the night so we I called the front desk and he offered us some milk. I would totally recommend staying at this hotel.
We booked our four day stay in Columbia, SC for our nephew’s graduation from Army boot camp. Considering the many hotels to choose from, I am satisfied with our decision to stay here. First off, the room was most satisfying. The halllways and public areas show the wear and tear your would expect from a hotel at the fort’s main gate, and the staff went out of their way to make sure our every need was met, including recommendations and directions to local eateries and sights. I would choose this hotel again without reservation!
We stopped one night on our way to Savannah Georgia. This hotel is just plain tired and in need of a facelift. I thought our bedding was clean and we slept well. I thought for sure with the hallway being on the outside we would hear people running up and down all night but that was not the case. I did like the tissue stuffed into the peephole in the door....nice quality touch! The breakfast was your typical Choice Hotel selections which was fine.
We booked 2 rooms for drive home. Had to pass through 2 smokers on non-smoking floor to get to our rooms. Thankfully checked sheets 1st thing - room was dirty, with stains on curtains & comforter. 1 bed had been slept in - not just dirty sheets but completely mushed down to see quilting impression on sheets. All beds had hair & other grossness. Glad the nice lady at the front desk refunded our money w no issue (guessing this is normal) and we drove the 8 hrs home instead of trying to stay elsewhere. Stay away from this disgusting place. Also felt very uncomfortable safety-wise - there were homeless people bedding down for the night in the parking lot by the dumpster, & people just hanging outside checking out other people.
If you need just a place to stay for cheap, this location will work. But "Quality" is certainly a misnomer. Outside stairs and walkways were broken and at times dangerous. Carpet was old and worn - did not want to walk barefoot on it. Bathroom was poor construction and even what looked like new vanity was poor quality. There was an intermittent loud plumbing dysfunctional sound that very disturbing. Bed was over used with collapsed areas and overly firm areas. The one saving grace was how nice and friendly most of the staff were. Made it tolerable. It served its purpose but will not be using this hotel again.
The breakfast was added into the room rate, no good, poor food quality except the fresh fruits. No hot water, I had to take a cold shower. I called the front desk around 8:00 p waited for a long time, called again around 10:00p, the front desk staff said she called for the manager but no reply yet. So the front desk staff came up anyway around 10:20pm to check, she said she could try to get hold of the manager again. But we had to go to bed as we need to get up early in the morning. Bathtub was gross, tab water was running slow. flat screen TV got double visions. it can use a face lift. Air conditioner was on but either too cold or too warm, glad that we just stay 1 nite for the the total Eclipse.
