We have not rented in Myrtle Beach area for over 25 years as we have many family living here. However, this year we had a group of 15 and we all couldn't fit. We rented a 7th floor condo through Dunes Realty. Dunes was very...More
Pros: 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, all units have a full ocean view, indoor pool for bad weather, out of the chaos of Myrtle Beach, easy to find your building from the beach (believe me, this can be a problem), full kitchen, washer and dryer in...More
Every year my husband and I vacation with his family. Myrtle Beach is a favored locale of theirs. This year's condo rental was at the Atalaya Towers, and we were not impressed. The highlights of the place were the easy access to the beach (one...More

We were there over the 4th. There is so much competition for tourists $$ that we didn't have to wait anywhere. Sometimes there are issues at certain restaurants (like Drunken Jacks), but we just went to those places for lunch instead of dinner and had no wait. The fireworks are non-stop down the beach on the 4th, plus you get some incredible fly-bys from the air force. It fireworks stop by midnight so you aren't kept up all night. It's hot, but worth it. We have gone at various times of year, and each hold good and bad features, but the 4th of July is pretty cool!

There's plenty to do in the area! There's a water park (I'm sorry I can't remember the name) less than a 5 minute drive away. There's multiple putt putt places and a bowling alley on the main drag. Down by the pier are several beach shops, snack shacks, an arcade, and a few rides.
