No one is better at telling you you're a VIP then sticking it to you than Marriott Vacation Club. We will be returning to Surf Watch and got a call from Kathy telling us how VIP we are and we'll have a special check in line and a special lounge to use, yada yada yada. She asked if I had any requests, and I said I'd like to be as close to the ocean as possible. I realize that I"m not paying ocean front prices, and I don't expect to be. But I got a call today from Greg telling me that we are in the building at the very back of the property. If we were any further from the ocean we'd be staying at the Sherwin William store. The ironic thing is that when we first started using Vacation Club we owned X points. When we did a sales presentation I expressed my frustration that we always get stuck all the way in the back of a resort. The rep told us that if we bought more points that would get us into closer lodgings. We believed her. And now with more points we're actually further back from the beach than we have been before. But they still fawn all over you, telling you how valued you are. I have Platinum for Life Bonvoy Status with Marriott and get treated very well. Until I visit a Vacation Club property, even after doubling my points, and I get treated like a schmuck. Buyer beware.…

Firstly I have to say that this is a lovely resort. The walk over the boardwalk is not far, and for those with mobility problems, there is transport. The beach is beautiful. We had requested a high floor and quiet. Sun is the afternoon us important something we checked with reception abd was reassured that the apartment had sun pm. This was totally not correct and never sat on our balcony all week. Quiet was above the pool, which was certainly not quiet. We did have access to a preferred lounge which was nice but the room allocation spoilt our holiday abd we feel though Marriott owners requests are ignored

We first visited SurfWatch in 2013. Ten years later, the resort is still amazing. What we liked most about this visit was staying in a 3 bedroom/3 bath villa that comfortably slept 7 adults. There were 3 generations of one family and we were able to prepare and gather for meals in the comfort of our new 'home away from home'. The vast array of resort activities was the icing on the cake for us. Such a wide variety of events throughout the entire week. Kudos to both live musicians, they were excellent. The resort's Activities staff truly outdid themselves. In extremely harsh, cold conditions they perfectly hosted outdoor activities with engaging smiles & conversations. The many guests who turned up despite the cold temperatures was evidence that your hardwork and efforts were truly appreciated. We will be back but it won't take ten years before we return.…

Room - 5 stars Resort facilities - 4 Activities - 3 The room was in immaculate condition and looked brand new. The bld. we were in overlooked a pond and main office which was a nice view with xmas lights. Front desk was ok, seemed a bit inexperienced. This property is down a small side street with a couple houses you pass before reaching the resort with a guard on duty. The ocean is not far, about a half mile straight down the main road. Many people rode bikes to it or the large park you pass while going to the ocean. No problems with check-in or check-out. Was a bit disappointed in the activities and the basketball court/pickleball court was amongst trees dark and the net was in bad shape. I would stay here again as the property was in fantastic condition and most things less than 20 minute drive to.…

This resort was a plan B option after a nightmare we had trying to get a decent room at the Marriott Grande Ocean. We could not have been more pleased with Surfwatch. The staff here (shout out to Taylor) was warm, friendly and accommodating after we shared our bad experience at the other resort. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated. The master bedroom was quite large and the attached bath with walk in shower was huge. Having our own washer and dryer was convenient and our kitchen was very well equipped. We had a wonderful lagoon view with water features that we enjoyed from our balcony. The Surfwatch offers a great variety of daily activities, and they have a lovely lobby, indoor pool, work out room and many outdoor amenities. We loved the shuffleboard court, putting green, horseshoes and firepits. The path to the beach is a short walk to the sand and the front desk can drive you there in the golf cart if you need a lift. Only one building has ocean views but the grounds here are so lovely that we did not mind being away from the shoreline. The gated entry and secured parking is a big plus. Everything here is top notch, and our experience was wonderful from start to finish. Honestly, I can say enough good things about this resort.…

We have been to this hotel three times and this is the best hotel we have stayed at. Everything you could possibly need they have and it’s so worth a stay. When completing the pre-stay survey if you request what you want in a room THEY WILL GOVE IT TO YOU. My suggestion is to ask for the ocean dunes building if you are a peaceful, nice view, beach person and the tidal mark building if you like to be in the middle of things especially with people who love the pool. If your makings hotel choice this is the best thing for you.

My second time at this location…I took my Mom for a quiet, change of pace and scenery, safe getaway in November when crowds are low.. Stunning views throughout the entire property. On my first visit, I had a beach view. This visit was the pond view. Very peaceful and relaxing. Good food at the tiki bar on the beach and the villa is gorgeous. Plenty of seating areas, large dining room table that can accomodate up to 8 people. Well appointed kitchen with every item that you will need and most of all the beds are extraordinarily comfortable and the multi head showers are wonderful. Great place to stay!

Really enjoyed our stay at SurfWatch. Been in Hilton Head Island several times, the best experience had here. The 2-bedroom villa was perfect; modern and clean. The location is great, 10 minutes walk to the beach. Note, per your request, the resort offers a golfcar rides around the property and to the beach. Hope to get back next year and highly recommend to everyone.

We really like this location on Hilton Head Island. It's got a marsh area you walk across to get to a fabulous beach. It is more walking, but we don't mind. But the do have constant shuttles if you'd prefer a ride to the beach. Rooms are always consistent and clean.

3rd time staying here. Every stay has been excellent. Gorgeous property, and rooms are quiet, well laid out and very clean. Staff is phenomenal! The food at the Sea Salts bar, is unbelievably good. The drinks are fantastic, and most importantly all the staff at the bar are extremely courteous, and I have to point out that Mica is such an assest to the bar. He will ensure your having a great day! Love this resort, can't wait to stay again.
