Our third visit and gets better each time. Incredibly quiet with old South charm, you'll not find a more special place to stay. Don't worry if there is nothing else nearby as this is a destination if you enjoy hospitality and fine cuisine. On each of our visits we have enjoyed wonderful dinners with like minded guests with whom we...

We stayed at the Abingdon Manor Inn and it was simply fabulous - without exaggeration. We had picked the hotel because it sounded just like a Manor in rural England, and it turned out that it was better than most places that are to be found in rural England. We were greeted at the door by Michael who is a...

The Inn is lovely. We stayed in the Hunter Room, but I saw several other rooms as well, and they all were well-appointed and elegant. Patty and Michael are gracious innkeepers, and will attempt to accommodate any need you may have. Fabulous food! Can't say enough about the dinner we had: 6 courses, including lobster thermidor. The menu for each...

This little gem is just a few minutes off I-95, which makes it an ideal stop for travellers using this route. The town of Latta isn't anything special, but the owners of this property have a good thing going at this old manor. Lots of wonderful woodwork, art, and books in this place, and the rooms are nicely appointed. If...

Delightful stop for the east coast north - south traveler! What gem, an historic inn, Patty is a gourmet chef and Michael's wine knowledge and house selections were impressive. Included in our stay was a fabulous five course dinner and a delicious breakfast! The rooms were large and comfortable with all the southern charm. The attention pain to detail is...

We discovered this manor in a rather out of the way place on our annual trip to OBX. It is without doubt one of the finest manors and restaurants on the East Coast. The manor is absolutely beautiful and the grounds (with seven gardens) are breathtaking. Our meals were worthy of the best one might find in large cities and...

This place is well worth the trip, especially if you're on I-95 and looking for a special place to spend the night. Our room was clean, spacious with a lovely view, comfortable bed, and extra touches that you don't usually find. The real high point, however, was dinner - it was excellent. There's just one entree, but you can look...

Sick of billboards advertizing fireworks, title loans, plaintiff's attorneys, guns, fast food? Ready for some goumet food, a comfy bed, lovely surroundings and a bottle of wine? This is the place! Prix fixe dinner for us included canneloni, goat cheese and fresh green salad, soup, pork, sweet potatoes with cayenne and lime, a delicious torte, cru and a bottle of...

The Abingdon Manor Inn is one of the most beautiful bed and breakfasts we have ever been to! We stayed here overnight on our way down to Florida. It is located very close to I-95 and is very easy to get to. The room and entire inn were gorgeous. Everything was thought out so we didn't want for anything. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Abingdon Manor provides the only luxury accommodations in the Carolinas or Georgia close to interstate 95. The Inn is listed by AAA as a “Classic Country Inn” and had received the prestigious Four Diamond rating for fifteen consecutive years. The property, on the National Register of Historic Places, was built at the beginning of the 20th century as an opulent private home and, while now an Inn, retains the feel of an opulent private residence. A member of Select Registry, Distinguished Inns of North American, Abingdon Manor is ranked among the best Inns in the country. Located in a residential section of the historic district in the charming village of Latta it is just 25 miles north of Florence. The Inn is halfway between New York City and Palm Beach as well as Washington DC and Jacksonville, Florida and it is just 5 miles east of 95. Purchased by Michael and Patty Griffey from Miami, Florida in 1995 to operate as a luxury Inn, extensive renovations, decorating and landscaping have turned this magnificent building into a refined, elegant setting for travelers. The seven guest rooms in the 10,000 square foot building insures privacy, peace and tranquility. The award winning restaurant, The Dining Room at Abingdon Manor, also rated Four Diamonds by AAA, provides fine dining nightly, with full liquor and wine listing.
