*Upfront info about the reviewer: Between job related & kid sports tourni traveling, we have been in so many similar hotels in several states over the last dozen years.* The positive: Gloria at the front desk is a great asset to the place! Location is pretty convenient to hwys and away from a lot of hub-bub. The breakfast room is nice due to the view of the marina. The negative: For the exorbitant nightly price for a hotel of this quality,.. Poor quality breakfast. Two bedroom suite has odd layout and the condition of the refrigerator was poor. (You would expect that the hotel would understand if you're renting a suite, that the fridge would be a very key feature.) Furniture in sitting area of suite was minimal and very uncomfortable. There was a bottle full of cigarette butts left behind on the balcony to our room.

I hardly ever write reviews but thought this place was worth an honest review. Just a heads up, there were still some covid precautions in place and I think like everywhere else, they were short staffed in some areas (housekeeping?) Pros: our room was newly renovated and as a family of five, the suite was perfect for us. The pool was great, location of the hotel was great, the marina and dock were nice for an evening walk, the breakfast was warm and decent (cinnamon rolls were awesome), the once a week room service was wonderful! The young man working 2nd shift was great and the most accommodating staff member of the hotel by far! Cons: the once a day refresh for towels and trash was useless really. We got skipped a few days and the days they did refresh us, they only left us with 2 or 3 towels for a family of 5 so we had to walk down for more towels anyways. On the first shift, they would take our room number and tell us they would bring us more towels but we never saw any. Yet the nice young man on 2nd shift always found us some (and requested they leave more towels when they did our once a week cleaning). Our first day of breakfast was interesting. There were 2 ladies there to get your breakfast in the “food area” but it was difficult to see everything being served. They were low on seating too because of a closed off area (I thought cause of covid). When trying to sit on the end of that closed area, the ladies informed us it was due to a water leak and when I questioned where we were supposed to sit, one of the ladies said, “this is the Holiday Inn, after all.” The other lady made it clear that she wasn’t happy to be there and made us feel unwelcome. Her general attitude was of disgust. She commented on the eggs people wanted on their plates, mumbled to herself out loud about the customers, stared at us and overall made us feel uncomfortable. I understand that people have their days, but this lady had something to say 3 out of the 5 days we ate breakfast there and she wasn’t there one of the days. I did tell the manager on duty about this, but she’s also the same lady who never seemed to have towels for us nor bothered to bring us any. Long story short: get your own towels daily, take out your own trash, and deal with the nice, sweet, accommodating young man on 2nd shift if you need anything.

Dear Breakfast Nightmare, I am truly sorry for the inconvenience your family faced while staying at our hotel. Getting and keeping enough towels in the hotel has been a rough tasks, getting enough housekeepers to work has been even tougher. But I have honestly no excuse or reason why you were treated badly or made uncomfortable by our breakfast staff. I am embarrassed to say the least. This is not the way we want our guest to feel and you have my promise this will be handled and will not happen again. I will also pass long the kind words you have for our 2nd shift. He truly is a hard worker and will be commended for it. Thank you for staying with us and if you choose to give us another chance in the future please feel free to reach out to me. Sincerely

Traveled to Myrtle Beach July 22-26 to visit family. I was looking for a hotel near Longs SC. and this. Hotel was 10 mins away. The check in was easy and staff was helpful. We stayed in a two bedroom suite and it was very clean and the beds were great, We had 3TV's and two bathrooms. House keeping give me fresh towels everyday. The hotel is in the middle of the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club Marina and the view was awesome . Thanks again DDD

Housekeeping was poor to nonexistent. No remote for bedroom tv, no toilet paper stocked and empty on our two day stay, no bath mats and beds not made. When I reported these issues at checkout, the front desk person told me I had to request toilet paper from the front desk. Really?

Wife and I drove up so we could have some Myrtle Beach time on our trip. Joy greeted us and when the keys didn't work, she got us another room. Note- it was explained the keys are provided by a third party for advertising purposes. Hence the issues. The hotel was closed and completely renovated at the beginning of COVID. Our room was clesn and smelled fresh. Beds were fine and the shower worked great. I saw no bugs anywhere during our three nights. It was also explained the exterminator comes twice a month and the palmetto bugs come out after spraying to die. As soon as they are found, they are vacuumed. Breakfast was the usual fare. Laundry room had one washer down, but no other issues. I did have to go to another floor for ice, but not a biggie. My interactions with everyone there were outstanding. Remember one thing. With COVID, all businesses are seriously short staffed. We have not traveled through a community where help wanted signs are posted every where. If you are patient the staff will be happy to assist you. From the hotel it was ten minutes to Cherry Grove beach where parking is free from 5a to 9a then 2bucks an hour until 5p. We took a walk each morning. To Walmart or Publix, about a ten minute drive from the hotel. And finally, do take the walk around the marina. Clark's is a restaurant next door. We down loaded the menu, it didn't seem to be too much and you could get a table overlooking the marina.
