We will stay here again, only minor complaint was the pool temp was too warm, so we were able to go to their sister property where the pool was colder. The swim up bar was nice but the bar tender was not friendly at all. Check in went smoothly, front desk was very polite.
I can't say enough great things about Hotel Blue. Our 2nd summer staying here and we our just in love and had such a great time as the first. Staff is excellent. Very accommodating and we loved our room. The pool Bar is what keeps bringing is back. We always have a great time, love the music, drinks and always make new friends. Love the deals they keep sending me and making Our trip as affordable as possible. We don't have much money so very thankful for the pricing and having it be a great hotel.
This establishment is nasty, full of trash, awful customer service, they gave us a room that was already occupied my children walked in to someone changing, never got clean towels , trash bags. Take your money and go somewhere else!!!
We booked Hotel Blue online for a last minute get a way. We were pleasantly pleased to find Hotel Blue in a convenient location for walking to stores and places to eat. Our room was perfect, clean, and very comfortable. We had a fantastic time! The Lobby was an unexpected club/bar area. It was very modern with a lot of concrete and metal. We weren't really up for clubbing but this did not change how much we loved this place. Like I said, our room was fantastic and the location of the hotel can't be beat!
My husband and I brought our kids for a 3-night stay around the July 4th holiday. We were greeted by a friendly and very helpful security guard who told us where to park and gave us instant gate access for my husband's oversized Ram truck. One of my teenagers came back downstairs help me check in. Pros: The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. When I mentioned that I was a military Veteran, the receptionist waived the daily parking fee, which would have been $10/day otherwise. The sister hotel, Captain's Quarters, was less than 1/2 block away and the kids LOVED the Shipwreck Waterpark. The adult Tiki Bar, adult pool, bowling alley and live DJ are really nice features over there too. There's also fee based breakfast, but we didn't eat there because we bought groceries and cooked in our suite. Hotel Blue is an ocean front property, so it's easy access to the beach. It's also walking distance to ice cream shops, pizza parlors, mini marts and a few bars and grills. Family Kingdom Amusement Park and golf cart rentals aren't too far away, if you want the added exercise. Cons: The hotel is in dire need of renovations and additional staffing! The comforter in the master bedroom had a stain on the bottom of it. The murphy bed's top spread had stain on it's skirt. The pull out sofa bed had a stain on it's top spread as well. Also, the hotel room door looked like it had been pried open in past because the doorframe was bent. Also, the door was hard to close all the way and keep locked. Plus the bathroom doorknob was loose and about to fall off. The bathtub was stained and needed cleaning. When we opened the kitchen cabinets to look for pots and pans, gnats/fruit flies flew out of them. The inside of the cabinets also had a strong "urine-like" odor. I requested fresh towels on the evening of DAY 1, but Housekeeping NEVER came to replace them. So if you stay here, you're on your own as far as service goes. We swept up our own sand, made our own beds and tied up our own garbage. Thankfully, we keep extra trash bags inside our truck when traveling. So it may be a good idea to bring your own trash bags, extra toiletries (soap, shampoo, dish liquid etc.), and some cleaning supplies. Don't forget the broom and dustpan too! If you need supplies (and you will) the dollar store is less than a mile away on the main highway- just a heads up to be prepared. Each morning and evening, I stopped by the laundry room on the 1st floor and got a clean stack of towels in person. Housekeeping always looked annoyed at my request, but they always handed the fresh towels and wash cloths over to me. Not the best place to stay in Myrtle Beach, but not the absolute worst. Loud music and the stench of marijuana and alcohol were pretty much everywhere in the evening air, but the crowds were not rowdy or disrespectful, and it was the July 4th holiday so it was sort of expected. Every guest we encountered was friendly and jovial. Lots of people were there with kids. My guess is that the pandemic has Hotel Blue extremely short staffed. Employees probably quit several months ago and never returned to work. It's still no excuse for the poor service though, and it's definitely no excuse for overbooking and charging guests the amount of money that they charge to stay here.…
