My husband and I had never been to South Dakota before so planning our trip to Deadwood was a brand new experience. I had looked on-line for a "historic" hotel and found the Iron Horse, a combination of old world charm, location and good price. We were not disappointed. We booked a larger room and enjoyed the corner windows with...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. I am glad that you found our historic hotel to have old world charm, along with a convenient location at a good price. That sums up what we strive to achieve here every day. The corner rooms are also my favorite, displaying great views to the south and west....

When we booked didn't realise how near the town centre we would be - it was brilliant. We had no problems parking in the hotel car park. The staff were very friendly and the owner Mike introduced himself and always spoke when passing. Also the housekeeper Linda introduced herself too when we met in the lift. The room was small...

The Iron Horse was perfect for me; close to main street and also to the adams museum, which was the reason I came to town. Onsite parking was a big plus. Very kind and welcoming staff, clean and well-maintained room. Will definitely come again!

We stayed here over deadweird weekend...spent 200 dollars for a double room which was very small. And now we have bed bugs. We had to throw a away our luggage because I didn't want to risk getting it in my own home.

Thank you for being our guest. I have owned the hotel for 6 years, and we have NEVER had evidence of bed bugs here, including your recent claim. I took the room out of service after learning of your problem, and our pest control service arrived yesterday afternoon. He found nothing, and then treated the room as a precaution. I...

I was excited to try something different. I have stayed in a variety of other hotels in Deadwood. This is a great location & a really cool old building with lots of history. Similar in looks to main streets Bullock Hotel. Check in was busy. The room was surprisingly small. We knowingly booked a double bed room, our mistake. Really...

Thank you for your review, and for being our guest. Our rooms do vary in size due to the nature of our historic building. Originally constructed as a feed store for horses in 1898, it was re-purposed to it's present hotel use during the restoration. The rooms with one full size bed are smaller, designed for younger guests and those...
