Classic old school hotel with character, charm and outstanding service. Bonita, Traci and "the kid" in particular were outstanding. We used it as a base camp for our daily motorcycle rides through the Black Hills. We will be going back there the next time we visit.

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. Your first sentence is what we strive to be: a "classic old school hotel with character, charm, and outstanding service." I will pass along to my staff your compiments. Most of our guests find our hotel to be a great, central "base camp" for their exploration of the beautiful...

We arrived here and after getting to the room were initially disappointed as it was quite poky and has no real window, just a fake window out onto some stairs. This wasn't a cheap room but as we were only there one night it would do. Then I noticed the dust accumulated around the edges of the room and my...

Thank you for being our guest. Our guests typically find our small hotel to be very clean and comfortable. Our housekeepers work hard in an attempt to make sure our guests stay an enjoyable one. That said, we are not perfect, and I am sorry that we missed the problems that you encountered with your original room. Once we discovered...

I want to start out saying how fantastic an experience we had overall while staying at the Iron Horse. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about the owner of the establishment! We ran into him while checking in, but we had no idea who he was. He asked about our stay and we told him it was...

Thank you for being our guest. I am glad you spent some time with us on your honeymoon, and am proud to have played a small part in your enjoyment of our town. I regret your disappointment, but a lot of things came into play. The front desk person that you spoke with about the room charge is a wonderful...

Everything about this hotel is wonderful! Mike and Cynthia are wonderful hosts as are all their employees. The hotel is unique and gives you that old west feeling. Deadwood is a fun town. We can't wait to return next summer!! Look no further for a wonderful place to stay.

Thank you for being our guest, and we are anxious to host you again next summer! Our building is unique, constructed in 1898 as a livestock feed store. In it's years it has served as the town's post office, library, and lodging facility. Great effort was spent saving many of the Victorian features in the restoration, and the "old west"...

We stayed at the Iron Horse during the 76th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff/service was excellent. They were friendly, courteous, and provided everything we asked for and then some. The location is only a block and a half to Deadwood main street which made it very convenient to shop, grab a bite, grab a...

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. I will pass along your compliments to our staff. They work very hard to provide clean, comfortable rooms and accommodating service. Like you, many guests find our location to be convenient: a block from the Main Street attractions, yet removed enough for a quiet nights sleep. We hope to...

We have stayed at the Iron Horse 6 times. Suggest if you are booking for the rally to book early. Slots are great fun. Restaurant is very good. People are very nice. Block off main street next to the Depo with on site parking! Thanks Mike and staff!!

Thank you for being our repeat guest and for your nice review. The Sturgis Rally is indeed a busy time, and guests should make their travel plans well in advance. I am glad that you enjoyed our casino and restaurant, and I will pass along your compliments to our staff. Like you, most guests appreciate our downtown location and free...

We rode motorcycles into Deadwood and reserved rooms at the Iron Horse Inn. To be able to talk with the owner himself so many times on the phone in preparation for the trip, made us feel like we were coming to his home. The staff were exceptionally helpful and Mike (the owner) checked on us each evening to make suggestions...

Thank you for your review, and for being our guest. Our rooms do vary in size due to the historic nature of our property. Watch for the stone horse head over the door, it is original to the building. Casino portion is usually empty and you check in at the lobby next door, which is connected. Thank you for your nice review, and for being our guest. The horse head carved from the natural sandstone that overlooks the front door is truly a unique feature of our 1898 building. I love that this hotel is in a historic building and that they kept the authentic details when it was remodeled. I loved the high ceilings and the stain glass transoms with the room numbers.
