I was not as impressed as I expected to be. The setting was beautiful, but the cowboy cabin I stayed in was a disappointment. The shower curtain had mold on it and the blinds in the only window did not work and were filthy, there was not enough (barely any) light over the sink/mirror that was stuck behind the entry...

Stayed at the ranch from 5/5/15 to 5/8/15 and loved every minute of it. We left a day early because of an unexpected 24 inch snowstorm (we had shorts with a 70 degree forecast before we left Kansas). I cannot say enough good things about this place. The ranch is peaceful and quiet with an amazing view. My wife and...

I was looking for a place in the Black Hills to have a family gathering and rather than book multiple hotel rooms i came across the High Country Guest Ranch, McCaskell cabin. It was big enough to accommodate our group so we booked it. I had no idea at the time what the ranch had to offer. Although it was...

As a "cowboy" cottage, we were told to expect a hotel-type facility. Admittedly, there were linens, plus a small refrigerator and microwave. Other common amenities were missing, however: closet or rod with hangers; iron and board; luggage rack or counter (some surface for a suitcase other than the bed or floor), facial tissue . . . . Air conditioner wall...

Gorgeous area. I would think most in the area have the same beautiful setting. This was off the highways, which was nice. It is secluded from the nearby road. We were there during off season, so we did not partake in their shows and normal festivities.

We just got home yesterday. We stayed in the trail side cabin. It sleeps 6 but there was just the 2 of us. It seemed like a good value for a cabin at $109 off peak. It is well appointed as far as the kitchen. Very roomy. Beautiful setting. Located 20 yards from a great hiking, biking trail goes for...

This is just my review for the trail rides as I didn't book rooms to stay at the ranch. I was all excited about getting to ride a horse for the first time. The website made it sound appealing as you would get to experience the beauty of the Black Hills National Forest. Amy, I believe her name was, was...

I booked this hotel thinking that it would be fun to stay in the country versus a chain hotel for a family vacation to SD. We stayed in a cowboy cabin. The cabin was fine. Small and no amenities (we brought our own linens) but it worked. The pool was ok. I cleaned/skimmed it each time we swam...it needed a...

Being members of a popular hotel chain, normally we choose one of their hotels, but none were in the area. I prefer a sleek and modern style and almost made that choice, but soooo glad I didn't this time. We were on a 6500 mile road trip between California and the East Coast. This was on our return home and...
