Stayed at Grandmas Ranch House in September for a family get together. Had a great time and appreciated the low key, quaint environment. Very clean and comfy, plus conveniently located. Would stay here again, great memories were made!

We stayed in Grandma's Ranch House. It was really clean and served us well. It had a lot of character of the past in the decor but added the modern conveniences a full size fridge and stove. The clawfoot tub and the decor in the bathroom kept everything with the character of the cabin but for us the downside was...

Your review would make my grandmother very happy. She always wanted her friends to enjoy her home and ranch, the quiet, and the creek. Thank you for appreciating that I wanted to preserve the “character of the past” yet provide guests with modern conveniences. Because a claw foot bath tub is more fitting to the early 1900s, I felt that...

We ran across this property when looking for cabins in the Black Hills. It seemed to offer what we were looking for - a full kitchen, living area, proximity to the Mickelson trail, and tranquility being off the beaten path. The property was gorgeous, the cabins were quaint, especially the porches overlooking the property. Loved that we could get right...

Thank you so much for your honest review. I appreciate your compliments on the ranch. But, I am so sorry that the road traffic was a disturbance to your enjoyment and desire for peace and tranquility. In high season, the roads can be busier than normal. I am also sorry for your displeasure with the fragrance of the laundry; many...

Not long after we began our search for a real log cabin for our family vacation, we discovered the Newton Fork Ranch website. Naturally their own description was glowing. We soon discovered independent online reviews were also very complimentary. That said, we booked our cabin for September. Upon our arrival we were immediately impressed. The ranch itself is in a...

We enjoyed so much that place. The "Harney"cabin was great, cozy, and a beautiful landscape. The cabin had everything, dishes, glasses, cutlery, toaster, microwave, bath towels and also board games to enjoy a night with family. The attention excellent. What a perfect place! Definitely we will be back!

Newton Fork Ranch is beautiful and clean! It is also centrally located. It was an easy drive to Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, and many other attractions. The Mickelson Trail is right next to the property and perfect for walking or biking. We couldn't have been happier that we chose this spot.

And, we couldn't be happier that you chose this spot, Beckyandfamily! Thank you for noting that you felt the ranch is beautiful and clean. It certainly is a stone’s throw to so many Black Hills attractions; the Mickelson Trail, which runs through a portion of the ranch, affords our guests a healthy experience. Wish I could've stayed longer but they only had 2 nights available. Owner was responsive to email inquiries. 2 of us in a 4 person cabin was great. If you had 4, it would feel a bit crowded. We didn't use the A/C because the cabin cooled down at night with just a fan. Property is spread out so you...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Although Newton Fork Ranch is very close to town our real log cabin rentals are both quiet and secluded. Our well-appointed accommodations will await you after a day of hiking and biking on the 109-mile Mickelson Trail, which runs through our property. We have a private access gate that opens directly onto the trail. If you are looking forward to some of that famous Black Hills fishing, Deerfield Lake is just up the road. And Hill City, with its many art galleries, restaurants, award-winning wineries, and gift shops is only a ten minute walk into town. But we are also known for our quiet and solitude so before your day of sightseeing begins, picture yourself lingering over a cup of coffee in the morning as whitetail deer graze in the meadow beyond. And after a day of touring, imagine curling up by a fireplace in the afternoon reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine on the deck. A truly magical experience! ... more   less
