Our church Dads get together at the Campground and Cabins once a year for a Father Daughter weekend. I enjoy staying at the cabins which are next to the campground. The marina and cabins are managed and owned by different group then the campground. The Thorntons have owned and managed the marina and cabins for several years now and they...

We couldn't have picked a better place to spend a weekend, as a matter of fact any weekend. Soon as I got home I made plans for 2 more weekend in the spring of 2017, and plan on making more. There's not a bad spot in the whole campgrounds, the friendliest people.

We were a little lost as no one was at the entrance. It was there day off. We found the lot number on our own. The lots are easy to access, you're not crammed in next to someone else. Lake is beautiful. They do not have cable and our cell phones would not pick up but the lots are great....

We camped 8 nights. This campground is definitely the most well manicured and maintained of the COEs we've ever seen. Great place to relax, sites are spacious. Great access to lake swimming, boating, hiking, and nature in general. Deer, rabbits, and squirrels are everywhere. The campground is 15 minutes from shopping. However, cell service is not the greatest. Verizon was...

By far our favorite campground we've ever camped at. We use a tent and there are plenty of nice big sites with shade. Site 16 is our personal favorite but very difficult to book even months in advance. It's a crowded campground so if there's any way to visit during the week I would. Bathhouses are clean. All lake sites...

Very nice and peaceful. It's easy to find, and at the same time off the beaten path. Squirrels, birds, and some deer would almost walk up to you. I would go back. The only down side was the bathrooms was not as nice and clean as I had hoped. The floors always wet.

Went for a day hike. The trails are very "natural", so bring your deep woods off. The lake is very pretty, and they have boat rentals...there's also have a man made beach area, it wasn't open when we went though. We really enjoyed the park. The bathrooms had tissue but no soap..so heads up, bring your own. The bathrooms also...

Would love to keep this a secret but I can't. We love this campground. Large campsites right on the water with lots of grass and trees. A nearby mountain bike trail, geocaching, basketball, updated (clean) bathhouses, a marina, a swimming area, you name it, you'll find it.

The campground is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The Defeated Creek Marina & Resort is a privately owned and operated separate operation adjacent to the campground. We did not use any services from the marina but camped in the campground. However, the staff at the marina were very nice and helpful. We almost rented a pontoon boat...
