Great staff..super friendly and amazingly helpful! Loved the atmosphere and the place. Definitely stop in here if your in the Erwin area, even if it's only pop in for a quick hello and rest. Look forward to seeing y'all again in the future!

I have stayed at a few hostels along the AT and Uncle Johnny's has been the absolute best so far. He is very polite and offers free shuttles into town for whatever you would like. They are very hiker friendly and the complex is clean and at a very fair price. I would come back and stay here any time!

What great people to do business with! They gave us a ride up the river and we put in at USA Raft who were also super nice! We floated all the way to the interstate and called Uncle Johnny's because we went too far on the tubes. They were very gracious and came and got us tunes and all so...

Very friendly staff, the old giant dog, Jerry Garcia, was great. Good place to wait out the cold spell. Three shopping shuttles a day and they go out of their way if you need to visit other places like urgent care. Also have bicycles to ride around town. "Rolling" sobo 2016

My wife and I (Thumper and Slack pack) stayed 4 nights in a cabin at Uncle Johnny's. The cabin was clean, located perfectly for our hikes and a wonderful retreat. The staff was friendly, helpful, and well informed about the area. Uncle Johnny even fixed my hiking poles with no charge. As seniors we found it perfect place to visit.

On a northbound hike from Springer I stayed at Uncle Johnnies and would give it six stars if I could. I stayed in the bunkhouse which is cheap, simple but comfortable and clean. Private rooms are also available. When I checked in, the friendly staff told me that Jerry Garcia slept on the couch in the bunk room and if...

My husband and I left last Sunday after our 3rd trip to Uncle Johnny's! Uncle Johnny and his staff are the most friendly hospitable people ever!! We love the selection of being able to stay in the Hammock shelter (our favorite), a cabin, the hostel or pitch our own tent. The selection in the outfitter store is great. Uncle Johnny...

Hiked in from Sam's Gap to spend the night in the hostel. These people know hikers and hiking. Met the legend, Uncle Johnnie and his some of his staff. They provide you with a clean room at a reasonable rate and 3 free shuttle trips per day into town. Very casual and hikers are coming and going. Stayed in Cabin...

This Hostel is on the Nolichucky River and "inches" away from the Appalachian Trail A friend and I stayed 2 nights at Uncle Johnny's this week. Had a blast. I'm not a hiker, but, it's a great place for hikers to rest and re-stock their supplies. I stayed in one of their cabins with all the conveniences of home. Lovely...
