Our family stayed for 3 nights and it felt as if we were staying in a home away from home. Lovely, comfortable rooms - we had a four poster bed - great breakfast and nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend this beautiful and authentic part of Ireland.

Bobbie is a fantastic host. Her breakfasts are those made of legends. Nothing is too much trouble for her . Dinner is set at the large oak table resplendent with candles the courses keep arriving which are homely and deftly presented. Mary also keeps the party flowing . Robbies daughters offer the same Irish friendly welcome and you certainly feel... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here as we were attending a wedding in Borris. Bobbie was a wonderful host with just the right amount of attention. The house is steeped in history and is located in a wonderfully peaceful setting. Our welcome pot or 2 of tea and fabulous home made fruit cake while we were... More

My husband and I spent a night in Lorum Old Rectory very recently and it was such a wonderful experience. Bobbie's hospitality is fabulous, starting with welcoming cups of tea. The house is truly gorgeous. We stayed in the blue four-poster bed room which was huge and beautifully decorated, with lovely views to Mount Leinster. Bobbie's dinner has to be... More

....with a wonderful owner. Looking at the Hidden-Ireland booklet, this does not fall under the family houses. But we were there with our son and he slept in his own room and felt as if had turned into a prince. The rooms and the house are filled with so many loving details. We were there for just one night. Definitely... More

Really not sure how much I need to write - beyond the fact that I'd not hesitate to return! Bobbie is a very gracious host and rather good on the cooking front too!! From the tea and cake served on our arrival to the breakfast before our departure (not to mention the five course meal the night before), I enjoyed... More

The warm welcome Bobbie extends her guests is like none that we've experienced. After being slightly overwhelmed by the stately house, beautiful grounds, and our four-poster bed in our huge room, we were invited to have afternoon tea and home made goodies by the fire in her lovely sitting room. My wife preferred an herbal tea, and Bobbie had a... More

Oh wow! I remember driving up the drive and seeing this wonderful house and wondering if we had actually come to the right place. Thankfully, it was the right place. Parking up in the gravel car park and being greeted by Bobbie made an impression that this stay would be a rather pleasant one. In true 19th century country house... More

You know that you have reached home when the hostess greets you at the door with a big sincere bright smile and hug that says, welcome back. We found this amazing Bed and Breakfast two years ago and we promised then that we would find a way to return. We were lucky again to travel back to Ireland and our... More
