This is the place to abandon watches, phones , all manner of gadgetry and reconnect with people. From the time you get to Bofin and are find yourself at the Doonmore to the day that you leave, you will find other things that are more important. The personal warmth of a family run hotel, really good food, snug friendly rooms, tremendous...

Dear BShep22, Thank you so much for your review. There should be a safe in Cleggan to leave all your gadgetry in as it only takes away from the full Bofin experience! In the event that I can't convince Galway County Council to install one there, we have one in the hotel for that purpose anyway. The' other things' you...

From the cozy peat burning hearth in the pub-room overlooking the sea, to the incredibly attentive service, to the delicious breakfasts, we were taken care of from head to tail. Do not miss hiking the ancient and breathtaking trails on the island and the horseback riding next door! The Murray family is warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable and Inishbofin is a...

Between the delightful staff, cozy rooms, incredible live music, and unbelievable beauty of the surrounding nature and water, my stay at the Doonmore was bar none the highlight of my trip. Stay here. If you don't, you're missing out.

Dear Nikki_Woo42, Thank you very much for your very positive review. I love when people from other countries randomly arrive for the first time on this little island and suddenly find themselves welcomed into the place as if they had been coming here for years. I remember you travelled solo, knowing no one, and I know that you left having...

Dear otooletriona, Thank you for your lovely review. It is amazing how Bofin suits so many different types of visitors, singles, couples, families and groups of friends, often all at the same time. It is a great place to come to get away from it all and to take time to reconnect with family or friends, while allowing time to...

Dear maireo80, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. As the most westerly hotel off the coast of Europe, I can't deny that we sometimes get inclement weather! However, it is also true that being a mountainless island off the west coast, we get less rain than the mainland; a little known geographical fact! However,...

Never fails to disappoint. Such a friendly and comfortable spot. Fabulous bar food, the best. My family have been staying with the Murrays for nearly 40 years on and off and there is no where else we would go or get a welcome like it. Highly recommend a stay at the Doonmore Hotel. Great place to stay on Inisbofin. Andrew collects you on the pier straight off the ferry. Breakfast is superb - beautiful brown bread and full Irish cooked to order. The bar serves great pub grub - crab open sandwich in particular. Views are spectacular.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Murrays' Doonmore Hotel, the most westerly island hotel in Ireland, was built in 1969 and has been owned and managed by the Murray family ever since. We pride ourselves on our hands on approach to customer service so you will be dealing with a member of the family at most stages of your stay. We care about what we do because it is not just a job, it is our life. Our friendly staff are superbly trained and they know that our raison d'etre is to ensure that every customer, from a child ordering a hot chocolate to a group of adults staying for a week, deserves only the best service possible. Our hotel and bar food is famous for its freshly caught seafood and its consistently high quality and value for money. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, homely and relaxed. It is no accident that we have a large percentage of repeat business stretching back to the early days. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (and we bake all our own!) So come out and visit and experience Murrays' Doonmore Hotel for yourselves. Andrew Murray ... more   less
