Couldn't recommend this hotel anymore if I tried. Such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Best place on the island for the craic too! Thank you to the Murrays and crew for yet another holiday to remember!

This was a great place for us to stay, we spent most of the days at the other side of the island (for beach access) but that is really only a short walk or shorter cycle. When we got back in the evening we didn't feel we needed to move to any other place for food or entertainment -- both...

Highly recommend this very welcoming, clean, cosy hotel right beside the seashore. Excellent fresh food, plenty of seafood, wonderful brown bread and great coffee . Cosy bar with high quality live traditional music. The hotel suits all ages and has a particularly relaxed atmosphere.

Dear finnm34, Thank you for your succinctly written, very positive review of our hotel. It is a lovely place to work, a lovely place to live and I know it is a lovely place to visit. From the tone of your review, it appears that you certainly got bitten by the Bofin bug. Our part in the magic of a...

We first stayed at the Doonmore Hotel on Inishbofin 8 years ago, with a tour group. The Doonmore is the Perfect Place for us, because it is where the island locals are mostly seen at any time, after work or before a night of music; when the island's ferry crew fills the pub on a Friday night, next to so...

Dear Edel G, It is astonishing how many people have come back to stay here, even after many years, and really do not want it to have changed. In truth it has changed quite a bit but the Murray family presence, the essence of the place, the hospitality, the food, the service and the relaxed atmosphere have all remained, so...

Our room was bright and very clean. Later that day we had a snack lunch which was very good. Had dinner there in evening and food was excellent....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Murrays' Doonmore Hotel, the most westerly island hotel in Ireland, was built in 1969 and has been owned and managed by the Murray family ever since. We pride ourselves on our hands on approach to customer service so you will be dealing with a member of the family at most stages of your stay. We care about what we do because it is not just a job, it is our life. Our friendly staff are superbly trained and they know that our raison d'etre is to ensure that every customer, from a child ordering a hot chocolate to a group of adults staying for a week, deserves only the best service possible. Our hotel and bar food is famous for its freshly caught seafood and its consistently high quality and value for money. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, homely and relaxed. It is no accident that we have a large percentage of repeat business stretching back to the early days. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (and we bake all our own!) So come out and visit and experience Murrays' Doonmore Hotel for yourselves. Andrew Murray ... more   less
