We've been going to Ballynahinch in winter or spring for the last few years. There are few places that can match the amazing scenery, the views of the castle from the riverbank are amazing. Inside is a lovely old worldly feeling with log fires and comfortable couches. Breakfast is fantastic especially if you get a window table on a sunny...

A romantic weekend for two this was our third visit to the Castle. It had been ten years since our last trip I was keen to see if things had changed considering the change of ownership. On arrival the Receptionist was kind and courteous we were not made aware of the renovations. Two helpful Porters helped us with our bags and guided us...

My husband and I stayed at Ballynahinch for the first stop on our Ireland Honeymoon. We had a room with a river view that was very spacious with an updated bathroom. The grounds were perfect for an evening stroll, with beautiful sunset views over the lake. The bar/grill area was perfect to curl up by the fire with a drink...

I came here with my family for a little break for new years eve. Our time there was delightful! My room was spacious and very luxurious and comfortable. Ask for a room with a river view when booking, The views are spectacular. The hotel is old and charming with big rooms and roaring fires. The food is of a very...

The most beautiful scenery you are ever likely to see. Connemara and Ballinahinch Castle right in the middle of it all !! We often go here for lunch and walk around the grounds. The lunch is nice though the menu is limited. Their chowder is very good and the staff are nice but a bit .. They could with loosening...

My daughter and I stayed at the Ballynahinch and I can't say enough good things about our experience there. The rooms were exquisite and the many areas of the property to just sit and enjoy a conversation were beautiful beyond words. The dining was second to none and I hope to return there again someday.

My sister in law got married here and we stayed for 2 nights. Perfect setting for a wedding. Beautiful property, gorgeous scenery! I took several walks and it was very peaceful. The bed was comfortable and we were able to get a good night's sleep. The breakfast was good.

My wife and I went over to Connemara for a short break on 3rd January. We expected things to be quiet after Christmas and new year festivities but were surprised to find the place full.Lovely log fires greeted us.Surprised that there were no coffee making facilities in the room. however a quick phone call to reception and coffee was delivered...

It's a bit shabby chic in some areas, but feels very British in that regard...much like you would think an Irish castle-home would feel in the Irish countryside. Ballynahinch has a magnificent setting, very rural and gorgeously landscaped, yet in a rustic manner. One of the nicest touches is that guests may purchase a tree to be planted on the...

I'd often visited Ballynahinch on family holidays in my childhood and my parents stay in the hotel every year for my Dad's birthday. Last year my family and I stayed for 2 nights over NYE and enjoyed a 5 course black tie meal. I'd requested a luxury room, thinking these all had 4 poster beds and I was a bit...
