We loved our stay at the cottage. Charlie gave the best recommendations for local sightseeing and was a wonderful host. We went out in Spideal one night and stayed in and cooked the 2nd night. Everything was perfect. Staying here was the highlight of our trip to Ireland and we didn't want to leave. We certainly did not want leave...

Perfect place to escape the city and experience Irish heritage. The hosts were more than welcoming and added to a home away from home feel making the stay a very comfortable one. Would recommend to anyone

Cnoc Suain. So special. It was like travelling back in time. A nice welcome breakfast basket was waiting for us. The cottage was renovated with lots of care and love. Historical but with the modern conveniences. Floorheating, bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, livingroom with cozy fire, all clean and comfortable. Not having wifi, tv and telephone was very welcome, because you wont...

We were looking for a country cottage where we could have a relaxing weekend and do some hill walking, Cnoc Suain exceeded exceptions. it was fabulous, a beautiful isolated cosy cottage with stove lit on our arrival. There were other lovely touches too, like the welcome basket with scones, brown bread, eggs and muesli... Highly recommended particularly to get away...

Cottages have comfort and amenities fitting with the traditional style. Especially memorable was the Oiche Shamhna or Halloween evening of food, song, and story by the fire. Dearbhaill and Charlie are consummate hosts.

This proved to be inspirational and perfect for a group experience. We learned about Gaelic culture in some detail (while sitting in the thatched roof cottage with a fire going no less) as well as were treated to some music and dancing lessons. So interesting and inspiring! The hosts were fantastic--passionate and welcoming and very relatable. On a subsequent trip I...

Derbhail and Charlie are the very best of Ireland – warm, passionate, fiercely independent people who have created a truly remarkable refuge for weary souls and curious travellers in a beautiful corner of the country. I love this place.

I stayed in the cottage for 2 nights as part of my solo get away to recharge my batteries. I can't imagine finding a better place to do that. The peace and tranquility of the place are perfect for such escape. The cottage has all the comforts you might find in a well furnished hotel room ( fully furnished kitchen...

We rent the 1 bedroom cottage and it was just perfect. The cottage is fully equipped (even with underfloor heating) and a nice fireplace. It is a quiet retreat, but still an ideal starting point to discover Connemara. The owners of the cottage were very nice and offer helpful advice about the area. We can only recommend everybody to stay...

If you are looking for a remote, but still accesable treasure of tranqulity and origin, Cnoc Suain is the place to go. I stayed with Derbhail & Charlie Standun one more time, and it is amazing to see their vision from 20 years ago now happening. This is the spot to be if you love nature, history, organic gardening and...
