I just stayed in the Cruiscin Lan for two nights. The room and the price did not match. I paid €180 per night. I had booked the last room available, which was a double, for two nights. I was on my own for the first night and my husband was due down the second night. The bed was 135cm wide, and the room was small. I told my husband not to come down as the bed was so small. There was no hot water in the sink tap. The room looked out to a roof area with a hint of a view between other parts of the building. On the positive side, the room was spotlessly clean and the young staff at breakfast were lovely and very helpful.

When you choose a seafood chowder that’s because it’s an Irish iconic soup. Your choice is based on a simple wish, having the best taste of the sea in just one bowl… It has to be creamy, spiced enoughly, with a good taste of fish and a pinch of lemon. What i ate today was only a hot milk cream with some pieces of fish. No salt, no spices, no taste of seafood chowder. Just a fade cream soup. No interest, with one small piece of soda bread. Mozzarella sticks? 5 small sticks, 9,95€. I have nothing to say about the service and the kindness of the staff that has done a perfect job. But come on, check on your cookbook !!! And do the best seafood chowder of all times.

Went in for some food, I had fish and chips which I was looking forward to but sadly I was disappointed with. Lots of batter and little fish, my partner had turkey and ham which was a cheap microwave meal. We have enjoyed eating out in Ireland, this was our first worse experience. We had to ask for a key to use the toilets which smelt strongly of wee. Would not recommend eating at this hotel. I did expect it to be of a fairly decent standard but sadly it was not any where near

Lovely area and a good fishing trip ruined by some poor running of hotel. Rooms mixed up and not as we agreed to pay for. Then there were Teenagers left running bar on their own during busy hours...Breakfast time only 1 Chef and waiter running kitchen during busy meal times meaning food coming out half ready left waiting on other pieces of breakfast. Wont be back anytime soon....as there are cheaper and fancier options in better areas nearby.

Stayed here for a fishing trip and planned to stay again in August but this was cancelled, the exact reason is unknown as I've yet to speak to the owner which was promised last week. Interesting how the price per room has gone up €40, maybe they want more money, or maybe they've overbooked, who is to know. We had breakfast the next morning and nothing was mentioned by the manager who spoke to me directly, a week later i was called to be informed that my booking reservation was cancelled. I've also called several times and been spoken to rudely by staff members making excuses as to why the manager is unavailable (still awaiting a callback - a week ongoing). We have visited this hotel regularly in the past but would rather give the business elsewhere. Owner should review the staff

Living on the east coast and having to be in the Gaeltacht first thing in the morning, I needed somewhere to stay overnight that would leave me a relatively short drive. Galway was a little too far so not a runner. There are other hotels between Galway city and Spiddal but I am so happy there was something that drew me to this hotel. I found it on Google maps, selected its website and booked it for 1 night. I am always wary of website galleries not giving you the real picture so I felt I was taking a bit of a chance as this is a relatively small hotel. I shouldn’t have worried. This is a little gem!!! Yes it is small. No it’s not The Shelbourne. However, it is in a fabulous location backing on to the local pier with Burren in the background across Galway bay and to the front it

I spent 2 nights in Spiddal last weekend in the Cruiscin Lan and it warmed my heart to receive such wonderful hospitality. The staff were friendly and courteous, especially the manager on the floor. The bar was bright and airy. Food was lovely and tasty. My room while a little old but very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The hotel is within a 2 minute walk of the beach. There is a little Beer garden off the bar overlooking the sea which was an unexpected bonus also. It's not a big brand new hotel, but it more than makes up for that with comfort, great food and the friendliness of the manager and staff. I will definitely be back!!!

When we arrived, check in was a wee bit strange. However, we got to our rooms and our sister-in-law was a wee bit disappointed with their room, as she required a bath and it was up on the second floor. She does have some mobility issues and found it quite a struggle. The views were also quite disappointing. We had a view into another room and they had a wall! We went down for a drink and the young girl behind the bar did not have a clue about drinks or customer service! Thought this was going to be a disaster! However, on going down for our evening meal, there were more staff on and John the owner was there. The food was really lovely, plentiful and served well. Breakfast in the morning was served by John and it was very good. The meal the next evening was also very good. We

Booked for one night as a convenient stay to catch the morning Inishmore ferry from Rossaveal. We got a street-facing room which can be noisy, but there is not much going on in Spiddal at night lately so we weren't bothered. Efficient check-in process, comfortable clean room, good breakfast included. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant/bar so can't comment on that.
