We stayed for two nights. Breeda & Padraigh were the perfect hosts and the room had a gorgeous view of the river. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet countryside getaway. It truly is a hidden gem with a lot history. Not too far from Kilorglin. Great spot for people that love a nice nature walk. Walkers...

Well, if you want to feel isolated so you can recharge in a bucolic and natural setting this is the place for you. We have three nights left on our Ireland excursion so I'm writing this from our next stop, The Heron's Cove in Goleen. We had been to two other B&B's before Blackstone's and Breeda and Blackstone's were far...

Padraig collected us from 5 miles away in his van (we ended up at a road junction after a long day and rang him) which was great. The house is set alongside the Upper Caragh River with spectacular views downstream and upstream. Excellent double room upstairs with comfortable bed and magnificent view of the riverscape. The food is absolutely outstanding...

My husband, then teenaged daughter and I visited Ireland in 1996: pre-internet/Google/TripAdvisor, etc. We found Blackstones House by accident - planned to stay for one night and loved it and its generous hosts Breda Breen, her husband and puppies so much that we extended our stay for another night or two. I think the fact that twenty years later, we...

Blackstones was a little challenging to find (the GPS/SatNav apparently tends to take people via some TINY backroads). But it was worth the trip. I think the bulk of their guests are hikers, and it would be a perfect base for that. The bedroom had a gorgeous view overlooking the river, and the breakfast room had a stunning view of...

Breda was delightful, warm and gracious. Everything she did, she did cheerfully and graciously. Her B&B setting was spectacular and her food (especially the dinner meal) was delicious! Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed here for a night during our recent car trip around western Ireland. Beautiful and remote setting! Great walk (with the local dog) up the river. The hostess was sweet and answered our questions. The room was fine though quite small sized. We drove about 10 minutes away for a delicious dinner in Glencar. The full...

We stayed 2 nights and loved the place. The owners were fantastic and took great care of us. The river and the bridge next to the place allowed excellent photo opportunities. We spent most of our 2 days site seeing around the Ring of Kerry and the Skellig Michael island (hoping to find Luke Skywalker)! Would like to go back...

We stayed here on our second night while hiking the Kerry Way. The house itself sits in a beautiful area. It is nestled among the hills by a river. The rooms were of decent size. The best thing about the house is the dining room. It has large windows overlooking the window. The owner of the house will cook you...

Very pleasant location. Good dinner, although a bit pricier than expected. Had some trouble contacting the owner for the promised ride from the trailhead. The room was in good shape although a bit on the small side. Relatively convenient to the Kerry Way.
