Do not be fooled by the name, I have now stayed here 3 times and have not encountered any ghosts! This time I had a very warm welcome from John & Jean and loved my cosy room. [Number 11] this is a very old fashioned, creaky hotel with beamed ceilings, grandfather clocks and old paintings of Brixham. I stayed for...

Great service. Booked last minute and glad we did. Full of character inside and a really nice huge breakfast. Parking is limited nearby but you're right by the seafront so easy to find a space. Cosy rooms really nice and you can almost imagine the characters from bygone years as you walk through the narrow winding passage to your room.

This is a very nice B&B and the owners are very friendly. Rooms are good and clean, Breakfast is typical Full English. The only downside is that the Bar and Restaurant are now closed as the owners are hoping to retire soon and i feel this takes away from the atmosphere of the 'haunted' hotel.

Today I went to the Smugglers Haunt Hotel for Sunday Lunch and I must say it was really really lovely, When I was walking up to get my meal I was told someone would be along to help me carry my meal back to the table, as I was walking with a stick, in the the years I've used a...

Stayed the weekend with some friends. The service was superb, we were greeted immediately and taken to our rooms. The rooms were very clean, comfortable with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits which is topped up daily. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and service was very friendly and efficient. They give you a fob so you can come and go...

We were very comfortable in this hotel where we stayed for three nights. Our room was clean and we had everything we needed. A problem with the shower was dealt with immediately. At breakfast would have loved to have some fresh fruit offered and it would have been nice to have orange juice AND cereal rather than one or the...

The management were good in letting us book in early as we were at a wedding at midday but there ends the positivity. Both members of management are quite abrupt but I've had better service from landlords when staying in rooms above pubs. Nobody offered to help with bags up the narrow staircases despite us having a 6 week old...

I am sorry you appear to have had a negative experience with us. You will recall on the day things were very hectic at the time of check in. Many of the other wedding guests had arrived and everyone was congregated around the reception area. As for our narrow staircases they are the average size for a house - which...

I made a late booking direct with the hotel. The rate was very good and the hotel was well located. No parking on the premises but just across the road, so all good. I received a warm welcome from the owners. The room was spotlessly clean, the breakfast hit the spot and I slept well. All in all very good....
