Stopped in for coffee had to sit in the bar. Latte was nice and smooth and presented in a tall glass. Luxury hot chocolate lacked luxury just featuring cream and marshmallows. A mix of Frozen and Jazz on the stereo.
This is a lovely family friendly hotel! I would recommend to anyone! The staff make you feel so welcome and are always there to help! Amazing!!! The hotel is well looked after and you can tell the owners have such pride in there business.
We turned up without booking on a very busy night but were made very welcome and the waitress found us a table in the restaurant as soon as possible. I had the carvery which was the best I have had for a very long time...More
We were on our way back home from a weekend away and decided to stop here for lunch. Very pleasant surroundings, extensive menu and really helpful staff. Food was very good, nothing with a "wow" factor but all perfectly acceptable.
Had a lovely Sunday Carvery, excellent food and service would recommend it. Nothing to much trouble, they are quite busy so would recommend booking a table. We have been several times and could not fault it.

Denbury is just over 9 miles from the Dartmoor Lodge Hotel, about half of which will be on narrow country lanes. It should take about 20 minutes, but here in Devon you always have to account for the tractor factor, especially now as the harvest is in full swing. It's no fun getting stuck behind a combine, or even worse meeting one head-on in the lanes! You can get to Channings Wood by bus from Newton Abbott if you don't fancy the drive.

This is set on it's own. Some people say it's about a mile or so into Buckfastleigh but I'd say thats a pretty long mile !!! It would be a long walk about 20-30 mins to reach town centre at a leisurely stroll however there is a really good, modern garage yards away which sell food etc rather ike a mini market. A bus stop outside the lodge and it's very central for getting onto the moors if you have a car . Infact it's the nearest lodge before getting onto the moors.
