We had three nights in The Pavillion a gorgeous dog friendly two bedroomed , self contained suite in the grounds of the hotel and it was super seclusion and serenity. We have stayed many times before in the gorgeous spa suite but this was the best of the dog friendly options available. It stands within the grounds and due to...

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 children, 10 and 6) are just back from an Easter break at Gidleigh where a great time was had by all. We took the recommendation of the manager at Buckland Manor (one of their sister hotels) and were very happy with his choice. The first thing I will mention is the road...

A fairly last minute booking. We wanted somewhere special, and had read great reviews. We arrived later than anticipated, a wonderful welcome ! We chose to order the 10 course taster menu with flight of wines. On arrival downstairs we were greeted with a glass of champagne. Attention to detail was amazing. Our dinner, well it was like nothing I...

What do you think would happen if you went to a 2 Michelin star restaurant with your grown-up family and placed a portable TV on the table? And then you began watching a programme with the volume turned up, all the while laughing and joking, getting louder and louder, whilst all the couples around you squirmed with discomfort as their...

Dear Andrew T, Thank you for taking the time to write down your thoughts on your recent stay with us. I am disheartened to hear that you feel that this situation was not managed in line with your expectations, and that your special celebration was overshadowed by behaviour you found to be unbecoming of a hotel and restaurant such as...

Drove through pretty country lanes before arriving at the beautiful Gidleigh Park Hotel for our one night stay for my girlfriend's birthday. We were looked after by very attentive and friendly staff before taking a wonder around the stunning grounds and taking in the breathtaking views. We had the seven course tasting menu which the staff happily adjusted for me...

My wife and I stayed at Gidleigh Park during a trip to the U.K. years ago but the memories stay with me still. Everything was simply world class with the restaurant being one of the best in Europe. Staying here will be a life long memory...simply fantastic. We hope to return soon.

I love this very special place. This was our 4th visit (one being a honeymoon) and, although we have experienced rain, snow, gales and mud when there, it is always a pleasure to sit back and enjoy the views and luxury. I was bowled over to have this visit as a surprise gift and It was very kind of the...

Anyone who has been privileged to eat or stay at this hotel will never forget the experience. We have stayed a few times and never cease to be amazed. The situation in the heart of Dartmoor close to Chagford is so amazingly beautiful. The historic house is surrounded by woodlands and pretty streams running through the grounds. No world noises...

If you're not used to narrow roads then the last little bit can be daunting but it is definitely worth it. It is a first class hotel and the rooms and restaurant do not let it down. The "a la carte" menu was a delight, the rooms a pleasure to be in and the breakfast very enjoyable. Take a walk...
