We started by having a Sunday roast, washed down with a local ale (well, I did at least). The food was fantastic, just what the doctor ordered, with a lovely open fire. Breakfast the following morning was equally impressive, no complaints. The accommodation was reasonable and whilst we had no qualms with the rustic nature (it wasn't meant to be... More

This is a great place to stay for those searching for cosy and simple. The family room was so warm and welcoming after a day out on the cold moors in November. The staff were friendly, rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast fantastic and we had a very enjoyable evening meal in the pub warming ourselves by the fire.

Made an impromptu visit hoping for a lunch on a Sunday while out walking with our Border Terrier. Although not having a booking mine host went out of his way to find us a table near the fire and welcomed the dog too ( we were prepared to eat in the garden). A comprehensive but unpretentious menu, very reasonably priced.... More

The food is amazing, a little pricey but worth it. The service is beyond any thing you will find in the biggest cities. Special mention to the owner Frank, all the waiters and kitchen staff, but a special mention is for Eddie, who gives above and beyond, and is truly gifted at his job
