We have just returned from a truly lovely stay in Spice Cottage at Culverhayes. The cottage was spotless, fixtures and fittings were of a very high quality, and the mini hamper filled with quality produce, was an extra bonus. The owners, Eleanor and Marilyn, made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our two dogs made the...

I was led to Culverhayes by friends who have stayed year after year. They had once again rented both cottages and had a room to spare, I was attending an event in the area so the match was made. I cannot praise the cottages enough, there is nothing better than a hot bath and a soft bed after a hard...

The two 17th century cob and stone cottages, Hopetown and Spice are situated in beautiful gardens of Culverhayes House closer to the listed village of Sampford Courtenay. The luxury cottages are fitted-out to a very high standard with everything one needs for a delightful break in the wonderful Devon countryside and Dartmoor National Park. We stayed in Spice Cottage, a...

We visited Culverhayes in May half term week. There were six adults in our family group and we stayed in the spacious Hopetown cottage. The cottage was in great condition and had all the modern updates (incl. free WIFI) but still provided the exposed beams and log fire / burner that you expect from a country cottage. I particularly liked...

We stayed in 'Hopetown' cottage for a long weekend. It was lovely to arrive in such a warm, immaculate, comfortable cottage after a long drive. To open the fridge and find a fresh carton of milk was a very nice surprise, everything in the cottage from the bread knife to the towels to the bed linen is top notch. It...

Like all families we looked around for what we wanted, then booked and hoped when we arrived we would not be disappointed. Wow what a relief it was all what we hoped for and more the welcome basket packed with essentials was fantastic! The accommodation was first class and the hospitality of the owner was excellent. The location meant we...

We stayed in Spice Cottage at the end of October this year for 5 nights. On arrival we were welcomed by one of the owners and shown into the cottage, to find the fire lit and the cottage warm and cosy. The cottage was immaculate inside and there was a wonderful welcome basket that would supply a full English breakfast...

We stayed at the Hopetown Cottage which was very smart, spacious and exceeded our expectations. We had a very warm welcome with delicious home-made scones, jam and essentials. It was a great place with a large lounge, wood burning fire and lovely grounds. The cottage had a quality feel, nicely decorated with a well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds...
